    Here's a tough one...

Where could I get soft pads under $40 each that last more than 3 months? A link will do just fine.

    Not possible. Sorry.

Red Octane (www.redoctane.com) sells ignitions for 80-some a pop, which will last you a long time (For a soft pad) and are very comfortable and nice to use. You could also do the following -

    1. Buy a DPR2 pad (or any generic 20 dollar pads, I suppose red octane's cheap ones work just as well) for about 20 bucks
    2. Tape it down to something heavy, like a thick particle board, or attach it somewhere where it won't move

A particle board or plywood board of the proper dimensions should only cost you about twenty dollars, but there's no real guarantee it'll last you over three months.

Edit: Lest I forget, You could always try a dance pad cover. Be warned that I've never tried one of these or seen one of them used, but they look pretty good: http://www.redoctane.com/ddrgamecover.html

try to keep excess body motions down. i got a gay 20$ one and it lasted me a half year. it wasnt even made for ddr!
but if ur on 10 foots, 25 DPR2s are GREAT.
im gettin an 80$ hard pad soon though. cant wait...

The BNS ULTRA NX is good. I have it, it was shown no wear YET.

It's like $25, and $27 if you want to be able to hook it up to your computer.

        Signature subject to change.

well, i bought a 3rd party one a bunch of months ago, and it hasn't worn away, and the buttons haven't stopped working, or anything that would make it not be useable. But, maybe it's just cause i don't play too often, or something, or maybe i don't know. i'm not sure how much it cost........so maybe i'm nuts.

Crazy...I have the Ultra NX one as well. I've had it for like 1/2 a year now and it's shown no tearing at all. Plus it hooks up to PC. Yeah! Definately reccommend it.

I was looking at the BNS DX-Xtreme pads (the $90 deal) but I can't seem to checkout. Can I only check out during business hours?
