    osu is a good game, the only flaw is the ranking system encouraging you to improve dumb skillsets to get the pp etc

    a vast majority of osu players end up playing unranked maps/stepmania converts and then eventually switch to stepmania because of the ranking system, but other than that the game is good

                Also, the funny thing is that whenever somebody is like "why does everyone hate [insert other rhythm game here]", I feel like I honestly don't know what they are talking about since I'm not seeing what hate the person is talking about (this case included).

                Like I can understand if every other thread on here was a osu-bashing thread but I'm not seeing that. Is this hate coming from the ffr discord or something (I don't frequent that too often) or just from random people you talk to (there might be some bias in the type of people you talk to).

                As for me, I enjoy osu for the most part...I would play it but the laptop I usually play it on is temporarily out of commission. Although there are some aspects I don't like about the game but I think the same can be said about any game, I still like it overall. Some things that bug me about the game (osu standard):

                -the fact that the approach rate is not decided by the user (it'd be like stepartists picking the speedmod in ffr for each song instead of leaving that to the player)

                -HR: this goes back to the approach rate thing. From what I know, some players actually find HR easier simply because it increases the AR to something they are more comfortable with.

                -Hidden/Flashlight: these don't actually change the actual gameplay and are only visual modifiers and I feel like they create a somewhat "artificial" difficulty.

                -mods in general being so heavily weighted when it comes to pp. Of course, I'm biased because I suck at almost all the mods, but I feel that since I'm mostly a no-mod player (occasionally playing DT) that my pp ranking is not 100% indicative of my skill level.

                                        I really dislike games that don't have standard channels for notes. Sightreading in OSU is dam near impossible. That makes playing new songs such a chore.
                                        I do like the why they implemented multiplayer and how easy it is to get songs.

                                                    the only way stepmania becomes playable is through using Orsu skin. the mere presence of the holy osu logo transforms that dance pad game into a real rhythm game
