Day 3 - Spring
Xyr (justin_ator) falls from the sky out of nowhere. He looks ominous with his dark blue clock, which covers his entire body except for his eyes, and his moss green hat that has a point at the top. He carries a ruby-encrusted jewel that enables him to channel his fire magic. All in all, he was not someone who most people would like to associate with. For some reason, a small, white dog who carries a lot of fur fell on the hard, flat ground with Xyr. The dog might have trouble in the summer with all of its fur, but these two are trusted companions who will never leave each other's side.
Rukde (runescapedude1126) also falls on the ground with a loud "thud". He happens to be the cousin of Xiz, and has a sworn rivalry with him. He carries all of his money in a large bag, and never shares them with anyone.
R3ce (danceflashrevo) falls to the ground along with the other two people. He has piercing blue eyes and wears an outfit made from cloth.
Xyr takes quick look around the town of Evergreens and sees an unfamiliar sight of people tending towards their jobs, smiling and carefree. He notices the other two people appear out of nowhere beside him, and infers that he was somehow transported to a new country. He walks away quietly and hides behind a house, not wanting to be seen by these unknown travelers. However, Marik spots him and asks Xyr, "what are you planning on doing in this country?" Xyr replies, "I'm not really sure yet, but it sure won't be spending time with the likes of you" and chuckles at Marik. Xyr then walks away before Marik has a chance to ask anything else.
Rukde asks the remaining traveler, "I frankly don't care how I got here or where I am, but do you know where I can gamble with this new money that appeared out of nowhere?
R3ce replies, "I am just as confused as you are right now. I cannot help you, and I'd rather travel alone to be honest." R3ce walks away and Rukde is left standing by himself. Rukde proceeds to ask a nearby resident of Evergreens where he can gamble, and the resident points to his left, saying, "there's a place over there called the Gambling Charades. You may only play if you bet all of your money at once. You have a 50% chance to receive twice as much sharps as the amount you bet, but if you lose then you're left with nothing, sort of like the saying "double-or-nothing." Rukde thanks the resident and decides what he should do first.
Xyr wanders the town to get a bearing of how the town works and how the people of Letters normally act. Along the way, he finds a pair of pants near a tavern, and having nothing else to do at the moment, he practices his fire magic by burning the pants into oblivion.
Meanwhile, a passed-out Xiz coughs.
Xyr then decides to find out what the country of Letters is all about, and proceeds to buy some red potions before he ventures out of Evergreens. He walks into the bazaar and is greeted with a strong-looking man about 55 years of age. The man says, "welcome to the bazaar! I can tell from your clothing that you're a fire mage and do not require any equipment. Would you like to buy some potions?"
Xyr smirks and replies, "Obviously, you dunce. what other reason would I have to come to this run-down old bazaar?"
The man shakes his head back and forth and comments, "many young-ins these days don't seem to appreciate the little things. Sometimes the little things are the most important."
Xyr shrugs and retorts, "yeah, whatever old man. Two red potions please."
Xyr purchases two red potions for 40 sharps and is left with 60 sharps.
Rukde travels around the town to examine more about how everything works and prepares speeches for the town hall.
Meanwhile, Xiz dreams about talking roller coasters that carry succulent peaches in their amusement cars. In case you're wondering, the roller coasters are saying, "I need to stop eating so many peaches."
Elmerz and Lucien head south and continue to see the Grassy Plains, stretched out as far as the eye can see.
Elmerz walks for the entire day, but does not find anything worth investigating. Lucien, however, encounters a yellow slime figure that is made of acid. The monster laughs and comments, "wow, you humans look funnier every time I see you. Lucien doesn't find this funny and stabs both its eyes with each sword. The monster cries, "Ahh! I can't see! You'll pay for that!" The monster tries to throw acid at Lucien but it misses. Lucien deals the finishing blow by slashing the monster in the form of a "X". Lucien and Elmerz earn 10 sharps each, and Lucien gains an experience point.
alloyus stays in the same area to see if he can spot another talking monster. However, he does not find any monsters today.
HalfStep heads north again and sees the same landscape of grass, stretched out as far as the eye can see. He encounters a blue snake with vicious fangs and yellow stripes. The snake says, "Hello, fellow stranger. It is a pleasure to meet you! Would you like to stop and have some tea?" HalfStep ignores the monster and proceeds to fire an arrow to cut through its head so he doesn't have to hear it talk anymore. He succeeds, and the monster takes two hearts of damage. The monster retaliates by slithering toward him and choking him, dealing one heart of damage in the process. HalfStep tries to deal the finishing blow, but he misses due to the snake's high agility. The snake tries to poison HalfStep with the end of its tail, and it deals him another heart of damage. HalfStep finally gets the upper hand, and fires another arrow through the snake's body, effectively making the snake unrecognizable. HalfStep gains 20 sharps and he is now Level 2! HalfStep also gains one more of his total amount of hearts and currently has 8/11 hearts. He also has 47/50 arrows left.
Both Iggy and Xyr head westward, and they see an endless plain of grass and a beautiful blue sky. Iggy notices that Xyr is following him, but appears aloof to the situation and just lets it slide. Xyr catches up with Iggy and wonders, "what's your name and why don't you seem to care if I follow you?" Iggy doesn't acknowledge Xyr and lazily replies, "my name is Ignatius Flamebearer III, but you can call me Iggy. I don't really mind who follows me as long as I can kill monsters." Xyr starts to say something, but hesitates with an annoyed look on his face. He finally replies, "Iggy, you're no fun. I don't think we'll get along well." Looking off into the distance, Iggy replies, "fine by me."
Both Iggy and Xyr walk for the entire day, but do not find anything of interest.
John Doe walks into the specialty shop, which reads, "Merchants Only." A thin, young man about twenty-five-years-old greets John with a smile and says, "welcome to the specialty shop; how may I help you?" John replies, "we have almost everything you can imagine! Ask and you shall receive." John smiles widely and says, "in that case, I want to buy 2 hammers and 1 dagger." The man says, "right away, sir! 1 hammer is 10 sharps and 1 dagger is 40 sharps, so that will be 60 sharps, please!"
John Doe purchases 2 hammers and 1 dagger and has 40 sharps left.
Marik enters the town hall to find a large, white court full of people sitting in the stands. Marik tells the court, "I have some questions about this town." The town official sitting on the bottom row, who has a serious expression on his face and looks at least sixty-years-old, replies, "go ahead" in a deep, sophisticated voice.
Marik asks, "do people normally fall from the sky and land in your town, and can some people who fell receive some shelter and food, possibly for completing deeds for the town?"
The town official replies, "What are you talking about? If you're just going to ask nonsense, then I suggest you leave. Our town's residents, though carefree, never give out anything for free. We don't need any help in this town, especially from outsiders like you who ask nonsensical questions."
Marik then asks the town official, "I see. I've heard that this town does not have any cartographers and that the maps do not have any information on the land outside of Evergreens. Is it possible for any of us outsiders to be hired for mapping out the country?
The town official says, "yeah, right. Everyone in this town who tried to map out the surrounding regions has never returned for over fifteen years. I doubt any of you outsiders will last more than one month."
Marik then asks, "If the surrounding area hasn't been mapped out, then how does commerce work? Also, how is this town governed?"
The town official replies, "although we don't receive imports from any other towns, we do have grassy fields near the town that are close enough so that we don't see any monsters. We have a self-sustaining economy and grow our own food to eat and trees to cut down for houses. In addition, this town is governed by us, and the laws are enforced by guards."
Marik proceeds by asking, "have you heard about the pant-less drunk with the silly hat who's been harassing the townspeople?"
The old man replies, "yes, I've heard of him. Why do you ask?"
Marik asks, "is it possible to arrest this man?"
The official replies, "I like the way you think, outsider. We can't arrest him because he hasn't done anything too drastic. However, since he knocked out some guards, we can put up wanted posters all over the town to so someone can turn him in to us for interrogation."
The official has guards put up signs of Xiz's wanted poster all over town, which reads, "turn in this drunk man with the silly hat for 100 sharps!"

In an effort to continue exploring and mapping the terrain near Evergreens, I suggest to Elmerz we continue east.
I also apologize for the fact that I am running into all the monsters. :P
