The scoreboard for this definitely looks like it should be a 13.
If we examine the chart itself, it has that 33+ NPS spike, a lengthy 320 bpm stream (faster than Rave7 and about as long) and the 8th jump sections are not exactly easy either.

It feels like a 12 to FC but a 13 to PA, at least in my opinion. For that reason I'm in favor of it being bumped up to a 13... but maybe it will have to wait until the new line for 13 cutoff is decided?
Thoughts?

Definitely tougher than Revo, should be a 13 even if we weren't in the process of restructuring to find a new cutoff

Either way, I think it should be the cutoff for 13 (Either that or Almost There, but that's a different topic altogether.)

I'm going to compare this with Eclipse Solar, which is also a file with a fast stream. (Also a high-end FGO)

Eclipse (Solar) tests on speed and some jacking. FC isn't too hard in that file, the patterns are really easy and there isn't that many parts which can you make lose your combo easily. PA-ing it is tough, it's like a low 13 in terms of PA-ing. Eclipse (Solar) only has one FSO part in my opinion, which is the stream.

As for Do I Smile, not only it's a file that's pretty hard to PA and also there isn't too many people who can easily PA 320 BPM stream, the jumptrills or even the red wall. The speedup makes it really difficult to PA too, since you have to pay attention to the BPM of the stream or else you might stream too slow or fast. It's also quite a hard file to FC as well since it tests both stream speed and jumptrill control. The jumpglut+jumptrill combo is really brutal, low FSO. As for the stream, it's also low FSO, and since those parts take pretty much half the file, I think that it's a 13.

I'd say this is definitely a low 13. That stream is a bitch to PA, let alone combo.
Followed by zomgwall which also takes a bit of luck/skill to PA/combo properly without ***gotmashing.

It's only slightly easier then Rave7 IMO, so it all depends what you consider the 13 cutoff as of now.

I say this is a definite 13. Harder then Revo.

Overall, I find the song harder to FC than it is to PA - the rhythms are very straight-forward and most of the patterns have relatively simple entries/exits. However, keeping consistent through the entire thing is beyond insane. I thought this was a cutoff 12, but I think this needs to be pushed into the 13 line. Building up to a constant, forced 21.3 NPS run into a wall that involves perfectly timed 16 NPS jumptrill at the very end of it. In terms of scoring, the patterns in the song are very split heavy, and are also jump-heavy. Those two put together at 250 BPM make for a huge problem to FC, haha.

+1 to 13 change.

I think this is a definite 13, it feels above all other 12s and even husigi which we were thinking of moving up anyway. The speed is absurd and the wall is brutally fast and due to being all red, the changes in speed are not easy to pick up and I can't even read what I should be hitting, making it very hard to trill properly. The 16th stream is omgwtf absurd and the whole song is draining as crap. Little easier than Rave7, but a 13 none the less.

Yes to this being bumped to a 13. The chart's ungodly hard for a 12 even when basking in a shadow of Revo or Eclipse. FCing it is really simple (with educated mashing even) but AAAing this nightmarish good magnet chart would be a nightmare I imagine.

My 1st thought after playing this song for the 1st time was that i couldn't believe it was a 12. that ridiculous red roll wall, the ungodly fast stream and 3+min makes this a 13.

plus, any song that has that gangsta siren in the background deserves to be in our hardest difficulty ;)

The file is littered with bootraps in the "jumptrill" rolls (there are only two FCs on it right now with zero boos) and managing the speedup is definitely not 12 material. There's also a good amount of one hand bias in the jacking transitions. The 16th stream that people refer to also has some weird transitions into the 2 and 3 (down and up) columns.

Definitely agreed on 13.

I'm getting only a slightly better non-mash score on this vs rave7.. so it would really depend where the line is. Either highest 12 or lowest 13 for now

12/13 line is still unclear, but from tricky features in this and statistical data, if Rave7 is 13 this one can be for the consistency.
