Join Date Inconsistency

So, which one is it?



I distinctly remember creating this account before going to Thanksgiving in 2005. I played Salad for your Tuesday. So I assume the top 1000 date is correct and the forum date is not.

This true for anyone else?

My date is showing up fine. That's pretty odd.

EDIT: Did you start posting on the account immediately? I get the feeling that the date up there inputs your first game ever played.

Well, most people don't immediately jump on the forums when they sign up for FFR, yet their "join dates" are consistent.

Your first post was 3-27-08 as mentioned above unless you deleted a post.

At least that's what the log says.

I actually joined in Feb of 2004, but I'm not complaining [not saying you are :3] . I remember Tass telling me it's when you first hit the forums that VB records your sign up date.

Yeah, I saw that now. This is a really interesting issue. I mean, what I said would work in your case, but it most definitely doesn't work for me because as you've said, my first post was in March.

This only affects people who signed up when the site was still running on postnuke. Like me, I joined in May

That makes a lot more sense then. My old account has a forum join date of November 2004 (I think?), but if I put my name in the siggy editor to give me a proper date, it shows me September 20th (game also says the same thing).

The dates are different from each other. If you joined like 5 years ago but haven't posted once or logged in through the forums, it'll not set up a date for when you joined the forums. Remember there were 2 ways to make an account years ago? Through the forums and/or the actual game site.
I think they were two separate things before until they were both merged.
Like I joined on Feb (I think) of 2005 but didn't go on forums till March of 2005..
That should clear it up.

My account is almost 5 years old but my first game played was in 2009 ...
I made my account, but could not play the game on dial up. It wasn't until 2009 that I had an internet connection that could run the game.
