Idea for a new scoring system

i've noticed that alot of people (including myself) hate how much max combo counts towards score. thus, i've come up with what i think is a much better (though slightly more complex) scoring system. i will explain it as best i can:

actual score u get (or lose) for each thing would remain the same, but would be modified by the combo it is in. the formula would be about like this:

(raw score for perfect or good or whatever) * (current combo/max possible combo for the song)

so, if there was a song with only 10 steps, and i got 5 perfects in a row, then miss one, then get the last 4 as goods, here would be the calculations:

    (50*1/10) + (50*2/10) + (50*3/10) + (50*4/10) + (50*5/10) + (-10*1/10) + (25*1/10) + (25*2/10) + (25*3/10) + (25*4/10)

now, this may slow it down, since it would be doing more calculations for every step, but i dont think it would slow it that much (except maybe on really hard songs with many many steps)

the way i see it, this would make every1 happy. combos will still count for alot, but 1 miss right in the middle wont bump your score down 100,000 points. it will also make perfects worth alot more, especially when within a combo, and would motivate people to keep the combo going.

and, if this is implemented, synthlight could also put in a score cap, so if people use cheats or secret arrows or something they would not be able to get any more than the maximum score. a score cap would be really easy to do(i bet i could even program it in, and i dont really know all that much ) so i'm sure synthlight could take a few moments to put that in there.

well, thats all for this post. i'd like to hear some good comments on this one. (btw, please dont think i'm a dumb n00b b/cs of my low post count. i've been playing FFR and DDR for a while now, i just hadnt ever posted til recently)
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

i like the idea that the one miss in the middle wont bump ur score down 100,000 or whatever points, cuz that gets annoying
