I didn't think this idea would work at first, but the more I thought about it the better it seemed.
This event would serve 3 purposes:
1. To clear the queue
2. To boost the relatively small number of regular tokens
3. To celebrate Easter, obviously.
This event is just as it sounds. On Easter 2009, FFR will release a bunch of tokens all around the site, and the users of FFR will attempt to find as many of them as they can. As with an Easter egg hunt, some will be easy to find while others will be quite difficult. Not all of the tokens will just be out there; you'll have to do some snooping around like for some previous tokens to find them. The staff may release hints to some of the harder tokens or links to token pages. A good idea I cooked up was to also give players clues to difficult token after they had amassed certain numbers of other tokens. I don't know if that would be plausible from a programming standpoint, however. Another idea I had was making all the tokens available for just one day on Easter, but this is almost definitely a bad idea, as it would be unfair to users whose families are strict in their Easter processions, resulting in them having no computer access.
I am posting this so far ahead of time because this would take an immense amount of work if approved, and we need all the time we can get. First off, we have a lack of token images, so we would need good image artists capable of producing lots of different token images. There is also the issue of planning the event; token locations, clues, etc. However, the biggest burden lies on the administrators who have to add and test every token. Hopefully we can pull it off.
Please take this into consideration, and offer any suggestions or comments you may have.
