Because anything a mod would have to say to a specific user privately could just as well be said in public to get the message out on a larger scale.

Give an example as to something you would have to say privately, Sprite.

This wasn't meant as a way for just mods to talk privately to regular users. Sorry if it came out that way. This idea is soley to give a PM option to the profile chat, the same way you can PM in vidchat and multiplayer chat.
