Vista and FFR??

I have a windows XP desktop, and FFR runs fine except for randomly jumps (not to often).
I have an XP laptop and it plays FFR 110% (whoohoo)!
Sadly, I have (just got yesterday) a Vista desktop, and FFR is so choppy. Unlike my XP laptop FFR on Vista is strange. It feels like there is a laggy boost, let me explain.

My Vista Computer is Quad, my XP is Single (core), My Vista has a way better graphics card, more memory, more ram more everything (I guess). But FFR on Vista is somewhat choppy, not large chops but like every 1/4th beat it seems to jump (a very little bit, but it makes a huge difference), also it seems to slightly speed up over the stationary empty arrows at the top. Other flash games like: Adventure Quest, Dragon Fable ect. run 10 times faster then on XP, but FFR is different.

Why must it be so?? The world will never know. My rank is now in the 500's I have
18,500+ games, so I must know a little bit (a lot) about FFR. I have played on several computers before, but this is my first Vista try.

Lol this is long, but it is very hard to explain what I am trying to get you to comprehend, but I hope you get the general idea.

Oh and PS. going to low quality did nothing to make FFR run any better.

If there is anyone else whith this problem, could they please explain what up? I can still connect a keyboard to my laptop and play FFR (once it out of the repair shop lol {stupid connector}), but I would still like an explanation of the situation (rhyme)!

yea i just went back to futureshop to bring back my vista laptop..cuz ffr and EVEN sm had intense lag..i just returned it and baught a new macbook..and its insane for ffr with no lag at all..but the arrows are tiny so i advise usb keyboard

I played FFR on my brothers Vista desktop and it was horrible. I had the same problem and nothing I did was able to fix it. It was running 512MB of some graphics chip and 2GB ram and FFR was running worse than my first Windows 98 system.

I seriously do not think it is worth it to get Vista for my laptop yet (I was not even thinking about it, I am just saying), I will wait a couple of years until more things become Vista (and btw Windows Longhorn was such a cooler name)....

My dad says the world is changing, and soon more things will be for Vista only, and old things will be upgraded, or trashed.

And no, does the windows classic theme make a difference??

Mabye its because of the 6 accounts on it, but its quad, other things run faster....
I am screwed.

ill explain how vista makes it suck

FFR on XP = 28 to 30 FPS
FFR on vista = 22 to 23 FPS

theres nothing you can do unless this is fixed in a vista service pack, which service pack beta 1 comes out sometime this year.

and btw, vista is pretty good other than ffr, its a beginning for a new version of windows, its not that old yet, give it some time to fix a lot of the bugs, it will pwn then.

Edit: well there is a program called smooth ffr or something, but i dont like it, i prefer playing on XP

that program works by running the low res version, and opening the program, it magnifies the screen in a new window, which doesnt get FPS cap'd at 23ish

I am on Vista Premium 2.0 GHZ t7200 Intel core2duo 1 gb ddr2 667 Dell Laptop with integrated graphics, and FFR runs fine for me. MP is bogus though. I have noticed that I have a better PA on my desktop. Vista isn't scheduled to go SP1 for a few more months. There will be a beta SP1 out for testers. I doubt this will address the choppiness that you speak of. Try running your browser in XP SP2 compatibility mode. It might do the trick for you.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 in my room and it runs like a champ. Even for 128 ram lmao.
But on the home PC we have Vista. 1Gig ram, decent video card, the works. but it runs like crap. Very choppy.
