    FFR Alert Implementation?

I have been participating in many unofficial tournaments lately (and now the official tournament).

Some of the tournaments have short rounds, lasting perhaps one to three days whereas some tournament have long rounds, lasting four days to a week.

And opening every tournament thread I'm in just to make sure I don't miss the due date is a little ... tedious. Especially when I have school on my mind and I forget the due dates very easily.

So ... on to the idea.

I was thinking that perhaps an alert could be added onto FFR that users could manually configure.

Settings would include what date to start the alert, amount of alerts, and perhaps an in-game alert, forum alert, or both.

Automatic PM bots have existed for many years on forums like vBulletin and Invision Power Board. Perhaps one of them can be coded and implemented so that when a certain date (that the user specified) arrives, a PM will automatically be sent to that user.

And same with in-game. There's that "Pending" alert when you get a new challenge that appears. Perhaps there can be another one that notifies you when the alert you set up has arrived.

That's all I've thought of so far ... not sure how well this will be received though.

I completely agree with this idea. Tourneys are so much fun, but I forget about them way too often. And even in the tourneys i hold, the participation needs to be to the maximum due to the teams.

Exactly ... TEAM tournaments are the worst when it comes to player inactivity, which would be a factor that this feature might eliminate.
