    Hide arrows in MP

I can't play MP to any decent degree due to lag. Part of this lag is sending and recieving score information from my opponent, but a good majority of it is because our computers are rendering twice as many arrows at any given time, than it would be on single player under the same conditions.

What's the point of having my opponent's arrows show up on my screen? It's the exact same thing as what my side shows, and it doesn't even reflect what mods they're using or anything. I suggest giving us an option to turn of the showing of their arrows on our screen (Therefore all you see on their side is combo, and Perfect/Good/Average/etc). This should help decrease lag significantly.

    I agree.
Also, it makes it harder because people, such as me, get distracted easily by two sets of arrows. Especially with songs with lots of staircases such as CIA Rave

On MP, I still have to screencut, as for some reason it reduces lag, and I can actually hold a combo.

okay let me tell you ppl why you can see your opponent's arrows...

So you can see how they are doing so you can adapt your playing is the main reason, a secondary reason is if you're trying to help someone you can tell them when something is coming up by hitting a bunch of boos..

As of goldenwind's post, screencutting DOES NOT reduce lag its a fact! The only thing that reduces lag is low quality. If you don't like seeing the other person's arrows, screencutting is a great idea! Not screencutting up but screencutting to the side. SCREENCUT THE OTHER PERSON'S SIDE OUT if it pisses u off that much!

We should at least have an option to turn the other players arrows off.

a secondary reason is if you're trying to help someone you can tell them when something is coming up by hitting a bunch of boos..
You can just do it by looking at your own screen.

It's a real pain in the ass to maximize then rezise and scroll over before and after each song.

                Maybe...

You can just do it by looking at your own screen.
Say you're talking about a certain part in a certain song... like the running men in Kung Klung and you're playing a noob (not newb) and they have no idea what running men are... You can't explain it because the noob is a noob! lol so you have to show them by say hitting a bunch of boos before the running men (after you've told them your plan of course) try that by lookin at ur own screen.

It's a real pain in the ass to maximize then rezise and scroll over before and after each song.
Then learn to live with it... 95% of ppl in MP have.

Seeing arrows flying up doesn't tell you how they're doing. Seeing their combo and Perfect/Good/Average ratings tell you, and I never suggested those to be turned off.

The notes are the same for you as they are for them. If you see a big burst on your side, then they suddenly miss a tonne, I think you can put 2 and 2 together.

I'm comparing screencutting on 1x as opposed to full screen on 1.75x. It might be the speed modifier, it might be the screencutting having less arrows to render at once, it might just be my computer, but one thing's for sure, having 2x the arrows on screen lags people.

It doesn't piss me off, it lags me. And if your statistic is right, that screencutting won't reduce lag, then screencutting them out of my picture won't help either.

I appreciate your... misunderstood opinions, but have a bit more decency the next time you post. Your attitude is highly uncalled for.

Ya that sentence killed the post. Screencutting doesn't have less arrows to render at once. Last time I checked, CIA Rave has the same amount of arrows whether u screencut or not. This like I said before is a fact: SCREENCUTTING DOES NOT REDUCE LAG! It's not a question, its a fact proven by beta testers and admins.

By screencutting, your computer only has to display a few arrows at once, as opposed to many at a time. I don't know whether or not the computer will still render them, however just not display (As they're offscreen), or if it'll know that it doesn't need to be rendered yet so it'll skip those arrows until later. It's for this reason that I think it's possible.

However, I would like to reitterate that not once did I state that screen cutting reduced lag. I said that for me, in my specific case, screencutting on 1x always has less lag than fullscreen on 1.75x. I said it might be due to screencutting, for the reason I stated above, however I also said it could be the speed modifier, or could even just be my computer.

Regardless of your assumption on what I'm claiming, whether screencutting helps or not, people are still lagging, and having to render 2x the arrows is almost a certain cause of a good portion of that lag.

Stay on topic, stop putting words in others' mouths, and get a better attitude. Your first post in this thread started off hostile, and you haven't cut it out since.

Edit: But thanks for the bump :P

For the times that I rarely dwell in MP, the second set of arrows pisses me off as well. The option to turn them off would be nice.

                              screencutting does reduce lag.

i would play 1x full screen and it would lag. same with 2x.

but, when i would screen cut with 1x or 1.25, it would reduce lag incredibly.
i don't care what beta's have tested. it works for me.
