How many tier points cancels out the ATP then, so I can figure out If I need to do this to get past it (hopefully).

Why is it "retarded" to scale a system for measuring accomplishments down further so that more people have a visible means of tracking progress than one or two averaged numbers?

Its a great system, the tier point system. Truly. But if only a handful of people can handle them, then its hardly fun for use common sub 5,000 rank peasants.

So, I think a good thing would to be introduce a whole new set of requirements for the easy songs and have an Amateur points system. Or at least be allowed to get Tier Points on this system from easier songs.

Yes, and No.
I like this idea because it gives some of the newer players something to achieve but I don't like this idea as well, because it somewhat removes the need to get better at the game. It would infact single out the good players from the bad though. Which could be good or bad.........

Amateur Tier Points:
-Gives people points for reaching certain goals on Songs that are rated 4-8 in diffuculty.
-After a user reaches a certain amount of REGULAR tier points, They would be removed from the ATP list.
-Once this list goes into effect, Users that already have more than x regular tier points cannot be put on the ATP list.

That is EXACTLY how I envisioned this

Anyway, this is the most contested issue since Capulet got a scratch and Montague's car. We have LDs support, any more admins willing to back this?

Lowering the standards of what, this is a whole different system, it wont affect anyone with normal TP's...

Seriously people: NEW SETS OF STANDARDS ARE NOT THE SAME AS LOWERING EXISTING STANDARDS

If you are too skilled for the amateur tier, just stay the crap away from the amateur tier. It is just that simple.

The existance of the minor leagues in baseball doesn't make the achievments of major leaguers any less impressive, you just don't go play in the minors if you are good enough for the majors. Simple as that.

And besides...the tiers aren't numerically limited. Everyone over X points is in tier Y. It isn't like someone being in the top tier forces out someone else from also being in the top tier.

my only idea is not to remove people based on the amount of ATPs they have, but by how many TPs they have.
