The "great" miss? This needs a big fix NOW!

This may be known among the admins and players of FFR... where you get a great AND a miss on the same note? It is when you hit it slightly late to where it counts as a great, but the note does not disappear and moves forth to become a miss. I think before all these new songs are even THOUGHT about being added that the timing windows should be reworked and fixed...

Second bug considers timing windows as well, known simply as the overlap bug which occurs most often when hitting jacks and sometimes happen when any two arrows are close together, where you hit a key but it actually counts for the next key because the next key's early window takes precedence over the first arrow's late window...

Please take these fixable bugs into consideration as you improve your wonderful website known as Flash^2 Revolution.

Yes, this is very well known, and won't be fixed until 3rd style, when they increase the fps.

Thanks Doug for confirming this, wasn't sure if the good players actually sucked enough to hit an arrow late to repeat the results I am getting.

        Actually... Shashakiro: Runnymorning(SGX Mix)

He got a good miss on the last jack in the set lol.

Anyways, pretty much what Doug31 said, it will be fixed in 3rd style.

fyi... there are no greats in ffr. only perfects, goods, averages. but, yes. the good-miss is well known. it's if you hit the note 2 frames past center. 1 frame late is a good, 2 frames late is a good-miss.

I hope you don't get mad at me saying this, because I respect you very much. FFR "goods" and DDR "greats" are essentially the same thing. He had a minor mix-up between the two. It is a very easy mistake for people that play DDR as well as FFR. It isn't something to put someone down about.

                  DDR FFR
                  Perfect Perfect
                  Great Good
                  Good Average(except the combo continues)
                  Miss Miss
Boo(doesn't exist in DDR, lose points for tapping an arrow when theres no arrow to tap).

Would it really be that hard to add a catch to this instance in the engine? I would think it would be fairly easy to just go in and add some code that says that if an arrow pressed tries to give the value for both good and miss, it will only display "miss" on the screen.

What do these bugs have to do with FPS? The bugged frames will still be there whether the game runs at 10 FPS or 10,000,000,000.

Actually...that was a jackmiss, which is totally different. =P

Jackmisses will break your combo, but they won't subtract from it if you get them at the very end of a song. I'm still not quite sure why that is, but it's definitely the case.

Rofl. I have lost at least 20 possible FCs on End Night, tons on Aztec Templing, and dozens on Balloon Fever because of this. Oh, and this is part of the reason Chrono Trigger is un-FC-able. I believe that was one of my first threads back in January: about the jack syndrome. 3rd style will rule, and, was Bahamut-X the one who said he retired until 3rd style, or someone else?
