I'm sure in any number of capacities this issue has been addressed by more than a few of the patrons of FFr. However, I'm goignt o bring it up again because as an avid particpant in the FFR gaming Community I have foudn Multiplayer to be both difficult to participate in, as well as ridiculously offense and annoying. I haev been relegated almost exclusively to single player because making efforts to find someone to play with in the lobby is nearly a futile effort.
My experiences in teh lobby over the past year has been pretty much consisted of:

a) ASCII Depictions of genetalia
b) random asinine spamming of smashed keyboard typing
c) ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
d) Spaming of nothing
e) Racism
f) Off color remarks about homosexuality
g) Assessments of how much of a "loser" everyone is in comparision to the speaker.
h) contest to see how many ways one can get around the profanity filter..

and when you try to find someone to play with in an effort to avoid the numerous rooms with people that are AFK but have left their games up for people to join....

As exemplified in this picture attachment besides the two people making idle, racist, ignorant, juvenile, shanannigans, the one person that is TRYING to play the game is drowned out and fails to find anyone to play with...

I am not sure what the plans are to stop this but I think that for now the game play is fine adn the focus should be on making this game a playable and sociable expereince again...I also question the validity of teh 1,000,000 player count (if alternate names are included) as I do believe most of the people that are doing things characteristic of what I have illustrated have plenty of names on which they can come on and spout their inane drivel.

There's really nothing that can be done. It's really hard for all the Multiplayer Mods to keep everything under control. Plus, I assure you that about 80% of all people who play Multiplayer are retards, have sick minds, or are just plain stupid.

I suggest making your own room and waiting for someone to join. It's what I do and I get on after the other coming into my room. I also suggest ignoring those people.

Sadly, That's kind of what I figured though I hoped that smarter people than I may have some miraculous insight that I may have overlooked. Disheartening...Back to single player for me...

Well... the ASCII things should no longer happen...

the spamming has been vastly reduced by the spam filter and the addition of extra mods.

but, really... nothing is going to be perfect. and we really can't even apologize for it... there just aren't enough people fit to be staff to patrol MP 24/7 365.

my advice, if someone is being exceptionally vulgar or spamming... contact myself or one of the other mods over AIM. if we're there, we'll gladly enter MP and ban the offender.

my AIM is the same as my unsername... i'm set to away 24/7, but i won't be idle when I'm actually here.

The spamming is the worst, my comp is like 3 years old and liek crashes everytime a lv.1 decides hes bored.

By the way, Citroen is already on the BoS list, meaning that he shouldn't be in MP for any reason (and will be banned on sight). If any mod even sees him in the lobby, he's gone.

the spam filter works but it has slow reaction,like u can spam and it will fill up the entire wall and then that spam controll kicks in.the met spam controll is the only one ive seen that works GOOD,its like i think 4 or 5 fast messages and its automaticaly pm'ing u to stop it.

That's an issue I've been seeing. I'm just wondering why. I mean, if mods are going to be added, why not add a number of them that's actually going to make a difference?

Or even just a few that are regulars to MP chat....There's actually a good number of those. The 4 mods (I think it's 4, including Tass) aren't in there nearly enough or as often as I think they should be.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the time it takes to do the scripting for a mod......It's just that if this was going to be done, it should have been done right from the beginning.

The issue is that there just aren't enough good candidates, not that it's really hard to add them.

Yup. And I've said that repeatedly... if not in this thread, than in others and in the chat.

Who would you have us add? I can think of 1 or 2 people, tops... and all have strong enough negatives to prevent it.

Then why add more that won't make a difference? Scottish and Kit- for example.

she is in there all the time. just not under the name Kit-. the same way I am often in there at night or weekends under a multi.

and we added those two because they ARE worthy of being mods. i meant name others who aren't already mods who you feel should be... cause if you're going to complain that we need more mods, clearly you should know who you'd like to mod.

Don't be a smartass and take it out of context. Just because I see a problem doesn't mean I have a ready list next to me of ways to fix it.

I said I've seen a lot of people in MP chat that are there regularly. Whether they are mod worthy, I don't really know. I can't speak for them. I simply stated that we clearly do not have enough mods and I don't think the mods that we DO have are in there nearly enough.

Well honestly, the problem is not the mods. The problem is the amount of immature people that come into MP, ignore the rules, and do whatever the hell they want to. Of course we expect this, the minimum age you have to be to join this site is 13, and of course people aren't exactly the maturist at this age. This is why so many regular users ( Single Player users ) do not even go into MP, its just hell sometimes.
I know I have done my best to get on at LEAST once a day, if not more. While I'm in there, spam, spam, racial, spam, spam, the usual stuff. Ban ban ban, more usual stuff. Until we "MP mod staff" see some kind of user that would be great to moderate, there is nothing we can do but try to be on more often, which is sometimes difficult, but it gets done most of the time.
On another note, I will talk to Synth about the Spam filter. I know sometimes it is handy, sometimes it will kick when you simply are extending or correcting something, maybe we could work something out.
