Combo numbers/animations above arrows?

For some reason the combo numbers and animations are on a layer above the arrows, now. Was this intentional, or has it always been this way and I just never noticed?

Maybe not really a bug, but something somebody might not have noticed.

Always been this way, It's fine I think it should be like that on stepmania, too.

You sure? The numbers seem way more distracting than they were before .65...can't...concentrate...on arrows... x_x
