I think that the credit system is a cool idea for buying songs, but the secret songs could be awarded differently. My idea is that the thing at the end of songs that says "% of highest score" should be "% of potential score" or namely # arrows*1550. Then, for every, say, 10% of the total cumulative game score, a secret song is unlocked by ascending difficulty. This way, getting 40% on a bunch of songs or 95% on a lot less would unlock the same songs, but one would have to do very well on all songs to unlock the hardest songs. This would also be a positive for newer players, as they would unlock songs they could compete on and most likely wouldn't care that they can't play the difficulty 11 secret song.
