I think, instead of the % of scoreholder (or may be just in addition to it), the score screen should show your percentile in relation to everyone else. So like, it would say "You scored better than 50% of people who played this song!" It would be comparing your score to the best score of everybody else that played. I don't this would be a hard calculation, just a matter of seeing what number place you are out of how many. You might say that it already shows your rank, but it doesn't show how many other people played the song, so you don't really know how you compare. 5th place may sound good, but if it's 5th out of 6 people, that's bad, and 50th place isn't so bad when it's 50th out of 10 billion. So like, seriously, percentiles.

Percentiles
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.
Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =OTags: None -
RE: Percentiles
Yeah, it'd be a pretty simple equation if you can do ranking.
(Rank of person with lowest score - Your rank) / Number of total people who have played the song = Your percent.

RE: Percentiles
thanks , without your awesome mathematical presence, no one would've gotten that one
but for now... postCount++
