    PLEASE HELP

Ok, I've been trying for the past 2 hours to get FFR to realize that Yes, in fact, I HAVE cleared my cache. I've tried everything. I've tried clearing my cache via tools>internet options>TIF>delete files, through manual deletion of the files.... I even tried deleting my cookies and even go so far as to bring my cache size down to 1mb to try to get rid of this problem. But, nomatter what I do, it says "loading FFR beta .53" and then comes up with the "clear your cache" message. I'm getting extremely frusterated at this damn machine....

So if ANYONE could help me, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm using Internet Explorer on windows XP home edition.

I've also noticed that for some reason the link to FFR hasn't changed. It still says
"Current Version: Beta .53" and all that other fun stuff. Is this just my computer being retarded, or do other people have this issue as well?

Once again, I would really like any help at all before I hurl my machine out the window in a blind rage.

There are answers.. It is actually quite simple. Your machine has cached an old version of the game and you have yet figured out how your OS/Browser combination can purge this old version. It is impossible for you to transfer from our server the old version, it simply doesn't exist anymore. The answer is in figuring out what you are doing wrong.

You will need to post exact details in order for people to figure out what is going on and how to help your problem.

      Cheers,

        Exact details? Ok.

I just cleared my chache, and tried to load FFR. It not only played, but DOWNLOADED .53. I deleted all of my temporary internet files manually and tried to load it. Same thing happens. I turned off Flash's ability to use memory on my computer. Same thing happens. I've seriously tried every single combination of these methods, and a few others (see above), but NOTHING works. I've even had a friend, who's finished CIT to try, and he couldn't figure it out. He claimed that it was the server's fault if it didn't work after he finished with it. However, other people are playing, so I don't know what to think.

I'm just about to go download stupid-ass netscape at this point...

I've had the same problem. I've cleared, refreshed, restarted, and shut down, and nothing happens.

It cannot download .53.. It doesn't exist. The main file was overwritten 2-3 nights ago with .64. There is only one main FFR file on the server.

One remote possibility.. i *THINK* ISP's sometimes cache files at the ISP level. That is the only thing I can think of at this point.

Btw.. you didn't give me exact details on who you cleared your cache. What EXACTLY did you do.

                Cheers,

                  If this helps...

                  1. Opened Internet Exploerer
                  2. Selected Tools, went to Internet Options
                  3. Found Temperory (right?) Internet Files
                  4. Clicked Delete Filies
                  5. Waited,
                  6. Tried FFR again
                  7. Still .53

                  Am I doing something wrong?

I think that if you hold shift and click refresh while using IE, it forces files to be downloaded rather then taking them from the cache.

try clearing your history first. Set "days to keep pages in history" to zero and clear it. Then delete temporary intenet files.

                              make sure...

make sure that you also clear the offline files.
