A singular announcement thread, inserted into another forum.
What's the logic behind it? Well, there's plenty.
For one, it helps declutter the forums. It also makes it so people have less a chance to add in cheap derogotory comments to their posts. Fewer unecessary posts will be made, no unecessary threads, less postwhoring, fewer users that are angry at one another for denouncing each other, and the list goes on.
There would be no way I would suggesting it if I had not seen it in action, at Arch's site.
Note now that the objective is not to make this site more like Arch's, or vice versa. It is simply to make the forums cleaner, more organized, functioning smoother, etcetera.
That is the thread where all the braggin at Arch0wl.com resides. Problems being that it is highly 56k unfriendly, and there is some screen lengthening, mostly from top to bottom (obiously), and some width stretching.
But I urge you all to consider this idea, and most of all, post your ideas and comments about it.
