    I said it before...

So, shut up about stuff you really don't know about. Your internet connection only controls how fast the game loads. After that it's up to your CPU.

Well Il throw in my two cents by saying i have a 3.2ghz with 1.5gb ram and a gf4 256 vid card with 500kb cabel connection and i still get that annoying pause within every song. I read this tread hoping to find refuge from the annoying little bugger but even after changing the quility to all 3 different modes still the same pause. So its not the comp speed or quilty. I bet it has something to do with the connection between the players comp and the ffr site. The sites spitting out info at rapid paces but so rapid that the comps internet speed cant keep up itself. Thus it pauses. Also continuos streaming of info into a internet is anything but accomplishable along the lines of perfection. So i agree with ninjafrog that its soemthing within the connection made between player and FFR but not necessaraley the players internet speed.

I never lag, but of course I have the fastest computer possible made by companies, including add-ons. Though also I dont lag on any games including First Person-shooters, so I cant really test how much my comp lags, cuz it just doesnt...

            Listen.

The FFR server sends all the information to you for the song, the song won't start til you have all that information.

If you are getting random stops, it is your computer, and your software, try upgrading to the latest flash player, and browser.

If problems persist, clear you cache, and hope for the best.

It's been a while, but this is an appropriate thread and I just found this out. It didn't seem to solve all my lag problems, but it has to have helped a bit. Earlier I shut down almost all my programs and background tasks to try to keep FFR running as smoothly as possible. During one song it suddenly slowed down, blowing my combo and making me adjust to the slowed, slightly stuttered stream of arrows until it eventually went back to normal. I checked my tasks and saw a few new ones popped in there. I didn't know why, some scheduled task I assumed, but I ended them. A little while later, it happened again on another song (probably a different one). I checked again and found the same two things running again. I was wondering what the heck was scheduled to run that often because I didn't remember manually scheduling anything like this -- it was Norton's Live Update stuff. Apparently it scheduled itself to run every 5 minutes. *rolls eyes* Yeah, you *really* need to check for virus updates and stuff every 5 freaking minutes. So I changed it to once every hour using the properties in the task scheduler. It seemed to help a little in that I didn't suddenly see a slow down in the next game or few I played. So if anyone else has the Norton package and is getting lag, you might want to check this and change the frequency of the scheduled checks. It might help. If you have some other package with an automatic updater available, you might want to check, too, and see if it's doing the same thing. I hope this helps out some people.

Essentially retired now, but still ranked on the list of FFR's Top One Handers.

As far as I know, there are only two different levels of quality for FFR.

Yes, it is a problem with FFR. Just because a bug in a program does not affect everybody does not mean that there is no bug in the program. My god. You should work for the government with that logic, jewpin.
