I'm actually pretty sure there isn't any law(s) that would prevent us from starting something like FFR2.com. Just adding the 2 alone makes it something different entirely and it wouldn't be copyright infringement of Synth's property. I'm sure there are people in the community, myself included, who would help finance something like that if it meant better service and a website that wasn't constantly on the verge of death. Hell I'll even send whoever a 4tb harddrive so we never have to worry about it again

That honestly seems like the best option given that there still hasn't been anything concrete from Synth that we know of.

My initial vision was to not leave this site at all, but instead how it can be obtained from synth to update it where necessary (since a lot of the issues seem to be things only he can do)

Apparently Synth has gone rogue from society and nobody can reach him (unbelievable).

I have the feeling if Tass or the Devo/aper was still here, none of this would be an issue and players wouldn't have to worry.

Also the fact that FFR has a looming death has made me not want to play anymore because there would be no point.

The current addition to additional event staff such as yourself, and the addition of silv and dossar to file managers was by far the smartest move that FFR can do without the presence of Tass/Devo/Aper/Synth.

However, its still a temporary fix to a large issue that still should be hopefully addressed. But at least it's a step in the right direction

Indeed but I remember when I was younger and FFR was a big part of my life and identity and I hated watching it burn to the ground (This was the time that LightDarkness was around and had his engine up for all FFR'ers to play like the old days).

I feel like this issue is as easy as 1,2,3 yet as hard as finding the Holy Grail.

In all seriousness though, unless synth hands over the reigns FFR will continue to die. It may even die soon if/when this hdd fills.

I don't understand why people are so reluctant to migrate. FFR has so many flaws already, it's laggy. A lot of the files are garbage and out dated. Notepad files............ and the website is horrendously ugly, there is no freedom for the developers to develop.

Sure say but thirdstyle failed, that's different, it doesn't feel anything like sm or ffr. FFr is like sm with a community. Aim for that and win...

But regardless we're all going to do nothing, the site will die. Someone will make us a new home(or we'll just return to sm/smo) and we'll migrate.
