Is it really? Synth already viewed the thread and probably has at least a basic idea of what this thread is asking. Many administrators have also said that they contacted him about this matter already.

Hopefully he's taking the time to think about how he wishes to respond to this thread (either directly by posting or indirectly by communicating with admins on the situation). It'd be a shame if he knows about the thread but decides to take no action.

This was only a year ago.

Furthermore, while Xiz set this up to be a discussion for positive change, the troll comments shows just how seriously the community is taking this. Synth, we would love to have some feedback from, even at the very least just saying no. "No" will not help our cause, but i know you will read this and see that there are people dedicated to FFR's future.

So people get bored and troll.

If anything, the existence of troll comments should be positive-
It's the sign of wanting to contribute something but knowing there's nothing concrete you can do, so let's just say some stupid shit instead.

I don't play SM or anything like that, and back in the day, this was my go-to site for after school fun. I would seriously be depressed if it shut down for good

Right now, the best thing that we as a staff can do is try to engage the userbase a bit more. Not sure if anyone has noticed, but there were actually three staff members added last night:

Silvuh/DossarLX ODI - they have been promoted from the Simfile Judgment team to the Game Management team, where their activity and diligence can be effectively applied to improving the batch system while actively adding material for the game.

Additionally, psychoangel691 was readded back to her post as head of events, given that she handled a ton of events in the past and was actually the person who created the Event Staff team, which was quite functional until I got added as event manager to take her place.

I know that some of you have poor opinions of Dossar/psychoangel, but I'm asking you guys to trust me in trusting them.

Before these adds, the GM/EM teams were really hurting.

on the game management side: Rob was by far the most functioning GM but his time is getting limited due to his educational studies; I have absolutely no intentions of staying GM because I'm failing to get the job done, and I too want to focus much more heavily on my studies rather than worrying about the large number of you guys expecting things to get done. You guys are great, and should expect things to happen by staff -- I take full responsibility for that on the GM side because I was supposed to effectively be a replacement for bmah, and I did not do a great job for that long.

The events team was no better, and honestly, I take even bigger blame for that than I do game management -- there was a Skype group created for the purpose of events management to discuss and delegate events, and I am sad to say that the activity of that chat was next to nothing. I've been told that as a manager, I shouldn't be responsible for getting the team to do anything, but if there's no morale from the top part of the team to do anything, what is going to make that unit do things?

I have faith in these guys to get things done, and I'm really hoping that as users, you all do too. I sent a message to get these three added on roughly a week ago because I felt like the situation was critical on both sides, and as users, you all have seen that.

EDIT: also, don't mind Kayla having the GM badge under her name -- the only reason why she has it is because the EM forum group was consolidated into GM (it's not much of a group with one user), she is in fact handling events and not the game-related stuff.

Here's my 2 cents while I write this from my bed.

When I joined the site in 2008, it seems like it was already starting to fall apart. A great idea handled by a poor management. It was a business that had great staff, minus the boss. I didn't know what I was expecting but hey, expect the unexpected. I wanted to contribute somehow but I knew I couldn't do much because I was a new guy. Even now, I still feel this way.

I've been on many forums and I have to say, I think this is what are some causes and effect of certain staff members:

If admin does his job but is like a ghost (darkspyro.net):
- Admin actually does his job
- Moderates regular
- Doesn't participate in majority of topics

The admin of the site actually did his job, wrote the site and forum from scratch, took suggestions and improved the site in a way. However, from the existence of the site from around 2006 to now, he only implemented the use of moderators around last year! WTF?! Now at least, the site is better managed but he seems even more like a ghost than before. Though he does his admin stuff anyway.

But back to FFR, when Tass finally threw in the towel, everything just really went down from there. What happens to the batch, the tournament, legalities? They, in a way, died, until L did his best to keep things alive.

Synth is like a stubborn donkey that refuses to change. He doesn't want the site to change the way it was from its original inception since like what, 2003? He lives in the past while his mind is in the present. While we all use our smartphones to do everything, I bet he still uses some invincible Nokia phone.

His decisions or rather lack thereof is much like leaders or dictators of the past. The Americans and French had a revolution, so maybe now we're going to start the Flash Revolution, because simply put, WE ALL want a change.

And while we're here, can someone please make this forum available for reading through Tapatalk or other smartphone forum reading software?

If Kayla needs help with the event stuff, I'd toss Zenith up as a potential candidate. He's got 6 or 7 user tournaments under his belt. I'd be interested in helping as well, not as a mod or anything as I don't have the time to commit to be a good one, if needed.

Yosh would also be another person I'd throw in there as well.
