Just got Windows 8, but . . .

I normally play FFR on my laptop, but it's pretty old and it's not on for very long each day. So, I normally look at the preview charts on my crappy desktop.

Our family just got a new desktop with Windows 8. While trying to get used to it, I come on to the website to preview some of the charts, but nothing shows up when I toggle the preview. Even the play button disappears so I can't even preview the songs; all that shows up is an "x". Also, the game does not work in the browser. Is there anything I need to do to get FFR to work on this Windows 8 computer?

My guess is the flash version being outdated like alloyus asked. Other than that, try a different internet browser.

also inb4 product key.. this is a "special" windows, and im going to be installing xp on this thing cause im not liking 8.

the only thing i like about 8, is the start up time. its retarded fast. although you can achieve that with a SSD + vista, or 7, and possibly XP.

I actually like windows 8.. Transferring from vista for years to windows 8 is heaven. It's really simple and easily can be converted to the equivalent of XP

You need to know that the Windows desktop environment Aero runs as an application itself, on top of the operating system.

You also need to know that this will lag FFR to all hell, along with everything else.

Microsoft did a good job.

actually, ffr runs 100% flawless on windows 8.. atleast on the computer i have running it. the specs are posted in the screenshot above. its an all in one pc where as everythings built into the monitor.. and its touch screen, yet ffr ran just as good as my main XP machine. i was surprised.

the only reason i chose 32, was because my "special" windows 8 was confirmed legit, and others were sketchy. i basically just wanted to check it out, and play around with it.
