Example is easiest way to tell this.
I played hellbeat just for grins, got about halfway through, failed. Figured I'd try again, so clicked "try again" button. Did worse, failed. Decided to try another song. Selected "Spontaneous Hydroxide." It had the hellbeat arrows for sure, but at a much slower tempo (which after playing Spontaneous Hydroxide, turns out to be that tempo) and totally silent. I got like two credits, go me :P
Hitting "play again" from buggy Spontaneous Hydroxide game score screen plays actual Spontaneous Hydroxide. Come to think of it -- this had happened to be before, playing Skellybones, although I don't know what arrows transposed.
