Getting mainstream songs may prove to be somewhat difficult. Usually all of these mainstream bands want royalties and all that fun jazz.

Re: Methods of spreading FFR popularity

i think what some new people would have problems with if when we bring them here or they stumble here by accident is what songs to start with. so i think we should have a thumbs up system for songs like youtube has for videos. if a chart is good thumbs it up letting another person who started see that the song is fun. we should also have two types of thumbs up such as one for the actual song just in case the person had not heard it before who is clicking on it and one for the chart. the last thing that comes to mind would be a clickable list showing the highest rated songs for certain levels so you have 12 lists and they show the top ten highest rated songs and its accessible through in game play and you can go straight to the song from it. these are just thoughts that might keep a player hooked instead of them getting bored and leaving.

i know this isn't going to show people ffr itself but the goal is also to keep people here not just to get them to come.

Or just make a New to FFR Genre and take a community vote on the songs we should move there. (about 10-15, range 2-6 difficulty, multiple genres)

Assuming the admins (mostly Velo I'd think) were okay with something like this we could get a thread up-and-running for the voting/suggesting of those songs. Not going to do it though until we get feedback.

So far I've made Toxic and Fall Silently and sent them as video responses to the official videos.

So far these are what I'm putting in the video descriptions. Anything else I could add is appreciated:

This song is in the [name] genre. You can also choose the song by clicking the "Songs" button in the top left and scrolling down to [song name] and clicking it. You can play the song here:
                      http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/~velocity/

And for clarification, you can change the spacing of the arrows by going to the "Settings" button in the top right and going to the "Speed" text box. Enter in a number, preferrably between 1.00 and 2.25 (It MUST end in a number divisible by 5). When you type in your number click "Set Speed" and then the Settings button again to remove the Settings screen. The Speed Modifier used in this video is 1.75

put the Legacy engine's link there too because it runs differently from person to person (Velo's lags too much for me.)

If I do that I'll also have to clarify what is used in the videos.

Hmm guess you're right, since your vids are in Velo's engine.

Le Internet Medley [Heavy] had decent success as a featured video response, and is currently at over 2,600 views. I'm thinking that if my responses to The Gregory Brothers videos gets accepted, there will also be more views for FFR popularity.

                              So far:

                              This one is official.
