Initially 970 is where I wanted it to be, I just didn't know if that was too exclusive. 970 works.

1535 AAAs required for +50, the number of songs that were in game at the time I updated. I was wondering if it was possible to write a script that auto-updates the number of songs required to be AAA’d for bonus points on the tier list. Something that would essentially calculate this:

AAA(n)= 500 + [(Total files in game - 500)/49]*(n-1), where n is the number of bonus points (up to 50)

So the first bonus point is always at 500 files AAA’d, 50 points is always for every file in game (including tokens) AAA’d, and the rest of the points between are evenly partitioned out per every X additional AAAs depending on how many files are in game. I'm not sure if this can be integrated within the current tp setup but it would make things a lot easier.

Well as it stands now, the difference in exclusive nature is pretty minor from 960 to 970 tier points. At 970 only smartdude has T0, and at 960 only you and smartdude have it. As far as everyone else goes they aren't even close, and those who could pull off 960 tps but haven't, probably could pull 970 as well. So I guess it doesn't matter if you do 970 for T0, but in terms of exclusive nature, I doubt much will change.

Though I'm getting these stats from this page, so there are probably a few people who haven't checked their tier points recently to update them.

I think you should drop the AAA bonus to like 1500 because files like Death Piano/RATO/vrofl etc. are unlikely to ever be AAA'd.

Perhaps exclusivity was the wrong issue to focus on. T0 should inherently be out of reach for everyone except the top elites, but knocking it up to 970 from 960 should prove a lot more difficult for any aspiring T0'ers to reach that level, given how difficult it will be to scrounge up those last ten points considering how limited their options are. I'm sure anyone within the 955+ range starting from now could reach 970 with little effort, but pushing T0 to 970 will make it a lot more difficult for anyone clawing their way to T0 from low T1.

But hey, that's how it's supposed to be I guess.

@Haku, the AAA bonus structure is identical to what it was in the past (when it was 845 songs for max, there were 845 songs in game). I think the idea behind it was that no one would ever have the absolute max number of tier points unless they've pretty much conquered all of FFR. Although incredibly unlikely and probably (read: definitely) impossible to happen given the songs you've mentioned, I still like that mentality.

are super exclusive files like FD & FS good ideas for tier points? Sure having skill tokens on there, cuz you can work for them. but those token files require more than just skill, which tps are meant to account for...

Rob asked if everybody was ok with the list and nobody said anything. He already worked hard to implement them. I know it's easier to notice when they are up but I think it's a little late. I don't think it's a bad idea because there are only 2 token songs on the list and they are high level songs. Most people who have the skill to play those songs efficiently also have a good chance of already having those tokens. For those who don't, it's a great incentive to be active and participate in events and tournaments since they will be handed out multiple times in the future. It will take forever for any player to rise up up to tier1 or tier 0 anyways, Just consider it part of the journey. If you really are active, even just a little, you will acquire the tokens before you acquire the skill to really smash the tier system. Just my 2 cents

Raised the T4 req slightly due to addition of T5. Lowered T1 req slightly after looking at the TP totals of some D6'ers. T0 at 970 good or higher/lower? (feedback from D7 please)

Personally I still think 960 would be a good number, it really depends on how many people you want to have T0 or not though. I wasn't in the community back then, so I had no idea how many people had Tier 0 back then.

Implying that the number of AAAs needed for 50 bonus TP is always the total amount of files ingame, I still think 960 is a better number. If it's some arbitrary 1455 or something, 970 should be fine.

Why 810 for T1 though? Just wondering.

Because people like Jerry only have 830ish TP and I don't want people of his skill level starting at T2 in this system, that's incredibly discouraging. This tier system is a bit harder to gain points on (stricter reqs compared to what was previously on there, i.e. 6/7 reqs were usually SDG or better and now are mostly 4/5 or fewer), so lowering the T1 req a bit seems fitting. 810 specifically so that the delta between tier levels stays constant or diminishes throughout the higher levels while retaining 970 as T0 and 50 as the T5 base (T5 most likely not changing).

T5 -> T4 = 200 additional points
T4 -> T3 = 190 additional points
T3 -> T2 = 190 additional points
T2 -> T1 = 180 additional points
T1 -> T0 = 160 additional points
