Re: Completely Revised Official Tier Point System
LOL..yea ok.I like adding token songs too - might give Dossar some incentive to get the rest of those done
PS: We're working on recoding the TP page, although it'll take a few days because of school. For now we're just changing the layout, but hopefully soon we can get the new types of requirements (raw score and 'pass the song') implemented, and then it's just a matter of entering in the requirements. Get hype!

Re: Completely Revised Official Tier Point System
It is not his fault. He does not have access to the database so he can not do anything. The TP code has been done weeks ago but the thing is Sprite- screwed up his hands and is unable to add the code to the backside and fix up the MYSQL at the moment. We could probably ask Velocity about it but I am not sure if he would be up for it. Even if he did ask him, he would probably do it whenever he feels like it (which is usually a long time) or just ignore us completely (no offense Velocity, I still love you though). If qqwref had access to the database, the TP system would have been implemented a LONG time ago.
Also before anyone replies to my comment (or a threat/argument/abuse if you see it that way *looks at certain people*), I would have to mention that I am VERY aware that most of the staff members/especially the admins have work, school, a personal life etc. This is one of the reasons why we need more staff members/admins who can program, work without pay (I bold this part because every time a discussion like this is mentioned, the staff members love to pull this "willing to work for free" move so I am emphasizing this just for them), and have free time. This way it will reduce the workload of the staff members and things could be fix/done faster but hey, let them do whatever they want because they have power and know what is right for the site and we do not.
All I wanted to say. Take or leave it.===============================

Indeed, as much as I want to see it implemented, I also enjoy the suspense buildup (and possible early bux fixes) rather than implementing a not as perfect copy.

Honestly, I'd love to see tier points back, and I am happy that you guys have things done. Have you guys been putting pressure on the people who have the capability to do these things? If it's a new site feature, and if it's complete, then pester the living shit out of someone so that they'll see it finished. Work with someone on a regular basis, don't just do your own work, and then ask someone to take a look at it once in a blue moon. Velocity actually can't do anything at the current moment, but I'm sure aperson/Sprite- can do something if you show them that you're practically finished.
People on FFR really need to learn how to communicate (not just saying you) with other parties.Comment

Re: Completely Revised Official Tier Point System
I guess I should mention some things:
1) I no longer have full access to the site nor would I even like to have it back. I never joined FFR to work on everything but that just happened to be how it turned out, I just wanted some access to change the game code but that could only happen if I did have full access.
2) When it comes to the server and the code behind it, I have extreme lack of trust in anyone new around it, when qqwerf got the unecrypted engine due to an error on my part but edited it and used it without my permission, he lost what respect I had given him. I due respect his ability to code, but it'll take awhile for me to get over his actions.
If he finishes it up, he would have to give it to someone else anyway since I can't anything unless it's the engine php files.
3) I haven't been following this thread for the last few weeks so I don't even know whats going on.Comment

Re: Completely Revised Official Tier Point System
@Halogen: I hate putting pressure on people because when I do, it usually ends up with me being "too annoying" and in the end, they do not bother helping. I tried notified Velocity on AIM several times but I never see him on so I am guessing that he blocked me because I was being "too annoying" for him. We mentioned it to Sprite- twice and I am sure Michael mentioned it to Sprite even more privately but because of his hand injury, he is unable to help. Aperson on the other hand is someone I did not think about so I will try asking him about it however I remember Plan B PMing him about an unrelated issue a week ago but he still have not replied to that issue. I will try to do so anyway.
@Velocity: Thank you for clearing that up. I (and probably a lot of people in this thread) was not aware that you no longer have full access to the site. This is going to suck even more because now we do not have anyone to update the engine now which is going to be another issue in the long run. I now understand your main reasons as to why you wanted full access of the site in the first place and why you did not wanted Michael to gain access to the database however that does not explain why you did not let him gain access before the engine thing happened. It was like, you did not wanted him to help or something but I do not want to assume that. I am sure you have your reasons for that too so I will leave you at peace with your decisions.===============================

Re: Completely Revised Official Tier Point System
The only thing I can update currently is in the /game/ section on the site along wth anything in the /~velocity/ folder. So I can update the Velo engine along with the game files itself but not the legacy engine.
Letting people access the site it not my decision, the only one that can grant people access to the site is aperson.Last edited by Velocity; 01-11-2012, 01:21 PM.Comment

Re: Completely Revised Official Tier Point System
Ah I see. That is really good to know however it still sucks that you can not update the legacy engine anymore because some people in this community prefer that engine over yours. This means that no one will be able to update the legacy engine except for Synthlight himself which is a problem because I do not even think he updates his engine anymore.
EDIT: I also was not aware that aperson was the one who grant people access. Now that we know this, we can just go directly to him. Hopefully, he will cooperate.Last edited by i love you; 01-11-2012, 01:24 PM.===============================

I can still update the legacy engine if I send the updates to ap/zageron, but I don't believe I'll even be updating those engines anymore since I'm working on R^2 now.Ah I see.
