I will make a thread once I have everything in place so everyone can complain that it's still crappy ;]

I know people are going to argue no matter what but at least I'm taking the most objective route possible and not just looking at AAAs but looking at the taps per second, and the BPM and the length so on.

Exactly, and that is the right place to start. If for some reason a song is misplaced by these stats, the community is there to help you fix it.

So wouldn't you in theory need to rate patterns from easy to hard, Kayla? Like most people would consider 180 BPM trills harder than 230 BPM stream, etc.

In order for anythig to be successful you'd need a team of 3-5 people each person from a different skill set with enough knowledge and unbiased opinion to help sort the songs. If you just have one person doing it you'd get more backlash than you would if you had input from multiple people. Also none of this"I'm just setting it up and we'll get the community to help" bullshit because that's exactly how the ffr difficulties are run(1-100) and loom at all the shit arguingthat goes on in that thread

Listen to this man, he is wise people. Only problem I see with this is that it will require a lot of people to have this accomplished but at least it will be worth it. Either that, or just continue to do the same thing you guys have been doing for years and run into the same exact problem.

Personally, I find 120 BPM jacks / 160 BPM heavy jumpstream / 180 BPM trills / 200-210 BPM stream about the same difficulty.

Of course, the entire point of this thread is that difficulties are subjective, so be sure to take that with a grain of salt.

Believe me I'm well aware of all of this. I've been bugging AJ for help too, so I'm not completely alone. And OWA is working on it as well. There will never be a "perfect" scale because some difficulty is subjective. All depends what you're good at. But I think we can all agree that something like mute city remix is kinda low for a 10 and something like Chaoz Japan is high for a 9 but would probably fit pretty nicely together in the same difficulty.

On a more serious note:

But I agree the newer charts are way harder than the difficulty people (no offense intended here) are rating them. There's charts like In The Wind that while are shorter, are more like a VC than Mute City (which I personally feel is more like a mid/high 9 because I feel Over The Frail dream is a HIGH 9 but eons harder to PA and combo than Mute City, Dot Death and Be Princess.).

PS: I also realllly would like to help adding in the 2 seconds of silence to charts that need it done. I know there's some picky rules on how FFR's stepcharts are kept, so I wouldn't have the slightest idea on how to ask about helping with that or the rules in me doing so. So, I'm just gonna throw it out that if the staff is willing to ok me to work on doing that, please send me the rules on me doing so. I really don't want to step on anyone's toes here.
