Horrible freeze lag??

Hello, I apologize ahead of time if this is not the correct forum to post this in I will move it elsewhere if I need to. I'm having a huge issue with freeze lag and it is quite irritating. I've done everything that's been suggested (cleaning PC, using 16 bit resolution, ran every scan possible on my computer and tried different versions of flash). None of these have seemed to help in the least bit. I'm not sure what happened but it has only just started doing this to me about 4 days ago when I installed a new desktop theme. I'm sure this is a flash problem I'm just not sure how to go about fixing it. I run on winxp if that's at all helpful. Any details as to how I can fix this problem ASAP would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Have you tried using a Standalone, if you're not using one now? and you said it started after using a new desktop theme, have you tried getting rid of that?

Yea I've tried using flash 8 and 9 standalone but the problem doesn't go away. I also can't figure out how to get rid of this theme.

Well, if the problem started when you installed a new theme, I think the problem is pretty obvious.

Right I think it's obvious too but I'm not sure how to uninstall the new theme.

Went to the internet, downloaded the theme then installed it with the install wizard....

Uh try right clicking on the desktop and applying the original Windows XP theme.

Some bogus ass windows7 theme that wasn't really meant for winxp
