I mirrored right hand dominated songs and played them a lot to improve my left. Like largiloquent so I could improve jacking with it.

I was forced to do pretty much the same thing. It's so frustrating for improving but it's really the only method that you can do. Unlike other styles where you can do different types of the same pattern, jacks are just...jacks. 4 possible jack patterns.

Mini-jacks are a different story, but most people are decent at mini-jacks because they aren't exactly prolonged.

Thanks guys, largiloquent definitely seems like the right song to improve on left handed jacks. It might get a little frustrating, but a couple daily plays should help out a lot.

Play songs that have trills on SM and make it so that they are left handed. Rates can also help.

Same here. My left hand literally freezes when I jack at fast bpms.

Advice: It's really all practice. Also try to lightly tap your keytaps and learn to control how lightly you tap. I've been working on that with this keyboard, and I'm getting scores that I can't imagine getting with it. Hopefully this helps.

Re: Help on improving my left hand speed?

My theory (who knows if it is true) is that discrepancy between the left and right hand is what separates a sub elite player (like me) from a truly elite one. I feel like, in general, most good players can jack with their dominant hand at a very high level-- a level that, if equivalent on the left, would lead to little problem on songs such as Club.

Taking myself as a case study, I have a MASSIVE gap between hand jacking speed. If my left was the same as my right, I am pretty sure I could come damn close to AAAing HardKore Atomic and I Hate the 80s right now. I would FC Grist every time (no problem whatsoever AAAing the right jacks, but can't even combo the left ones).

I am sure there are lots of players with this same problem.

It seems to me that there are two ways to counteract this.
                      1) Simply get so ridiculously fast that even your "weak" hand is fast enough to do its job.
                      2) Work vigorously on improving your "weak" hand until it approaches the strength of the "strong" one.

I personally don't think you can ever get the "weak" hand as strong as the "strong" one, assuming a gap exists in the first place. I do think you can close the gap, however.

And for those of you who had equal strength from the start.... booooooooo you suck

Re: Help on improving my left hand speed?

I don't really have a dominant hand... On one hand, my right can jack/vibrate quite a bit better than my left (easily wrist jacking Grist while my left has to kinda almost pretend it's vibrating, like the jacking between wrist jacking and vibrating), but on the other hand, my left is much better at trilling than my right. 1-0-0-0 on the left handed trill on Blooddrunk, 14-0-1-0 on the right handed trill. I play Radio Heads non mirror which apparently is harder, I can easily do the Kanon-Kanon trill with my left (so mirror) but can never do it with my right.

Who knows. My left needs to learn to jack better and my right needs to learn to trill. Just play a lot of files to stress what you need to learn. Eventually it'll work out. Right now I've been playing Death Piano and OMGWTFTOK3N so that I can learn to hopefully read better eventually and work on my overall skills. It's slowly helping.
