@OP: why are you bothered? Most people wouldn't really care. I don't have a preference either. You can coin any term you want.

I'd be more worried if simfiling was some sort of professional business and you had to address people by proper titles...but that's just silly.

It bothers me because I spend time thinking of which word I should use. I'm a bit detailed when it comes to writing/typing (if you haven't noticed haha) so I pay attention carefully to how versatile my words are. But I started realizing there's more than 5 different ways (counted 6 so far including leonid's) that people use, and I think it's kind of ridiculous that there are so many. Main reason why I put the poll.

It'd be so much easier having one term and sticking to it. BUt that won't happen. Still, it does get annoying when actually putting thought into what you'd call someone who makes the files.

If someone who stepped songs truly cared about his title, chances are he's likely an ass.

In any case, you might as well use the official titles given to us ("Simfile Author") if you're looking for a term to standardize.

Yeah pretty much this. One of my stepfile fans was always questioning me with pad terminology and all. And the fact that I don't have that much time to explain to her all of it makes it quite bothersome x.x
