Re: Official Tournament.
We still need people to organize what songs each division are gonna play and the order.
On another note.
I think that the only division who shouldn't get Vrolf is D1. We all know that at least 80%+ of the people in D1 who gets in the top 8 are probably sandbaggers/cheaters that could probably get in the top 8 in D3 and maybe even in D4.
Also Superfreak's idea should be implemented to, the only problem with this is that like after 1 or 2 years, playing in D5 would mean automatic Vrolf since most of the players would already have it.
He said he wasn't gonna host another official tournament.

Re: Official Tournament.
Same goes with every other tournament? This isn't that hard, disregarding 'sandbaggers.'
@ Superfreak: That's how it's worked from the beginning, top 8 who don't already have vrofl get the token.

Re: Official Tournament.
Yes, but did it give vrofl to the people in 10 or 12th place due to most top 8 players already having vrofl? If it does, then I didn't notice. If they don't, then they should do it.
@ Ic0: I understand that my idea has a very big flaw in it, but I also feel that everyone should be able to get vrofl at one point or another. Hell, vrofl should be a skill token get or something IMO.

Re: Official Tournament.
Did we not learn from last Official tournament? I, myself, remember the hell that happened seeing as I was a part of the complaining. (Sorry Sprite
). But, "having time" or whatever you guys say will not be the "only" thing you would need to run this thing. For one, Admin trust. Two, a generalized knowledge of everyone that is joining, and placing. Three, a straight up strategic way to get away from the sandbaggers. Because we all know that is always a problem, hence almost SDG in D1/2/3 on FMO/FGO's last official.
Personally, I'd leave it up to AP and VELO. They are coders and what not, not to mention have IP checks access. Lets give the Official to two new people. Let's give LD and Sprite some slack, and let them not have to worry about it. I say leave the Official to the ADMINs.Comment

Re: Official Tournament.
I say that IP checking is the best way. And if multiple people from one household (i.e. same IP address) want to join the tournament, admins/mods would have to check up on them. Basically, having knowledge and trust on the community is greatly beneficial in taking out so-called "sandbaggers". Knowledge in that we know the history of our members. Trust in that we'd hope those members won't cheat. Of course, there's a chance that multiple users from one IP want to sign up for the tournament AND we don't know who they are at all. But overall, I think IP check is the most effective method. I can't see a 100% fool-proof way of eliminating the possibility of sandbagging when that decision is really all in the mind, and anybody can do that on a whim.Comment

Re: Official Tournament.
I can name at least 4 households that have more than 1 FFR player that would likely want to sign up, myself and krunky included. In the 4 that I can think of, the two players are not of quite the same skill level. I've already been called out on being BS and I've been able to prove it and if it was a question of krunky getting my scores during an official, I don't think it'd be too much of a problem doing it on cam, but there's a problem with that. Not everyone is going to get their best run while on the spot on video. Yea, some might get lucky and video record their best. Otherwise, you may click the random button while playing, the song comes up THEN you get your best, and then you're SOL.
Short version: if videos were required, we'd all have to keep in mind that not the best run may be achieved on video.Glorious Morning - Misc, level 48
We Will Fly - Dance 2, level 53
=.The Ocean.= - Dance 2, level 56, collab with krunkykai22
Garden Party - Dance, level 38Comment

Re: Official Tournament.
As I said already there's no fool-proof way of eliminating cheaters. You can find any number of loopholes for any suggestion, which is why I said that you have to partly rely on trust. And that trust increases the more you know your members.
It becomes way too complex when people devise elaborate ways to prove yourself. You just have to weigh the pros and cons. Efficiency versus thorough checking. Accurate testing of skill level versus simple trust. You can't have it all.Comment

Re: Official Tournament.
Sara: Rule of thumb is that you never get a PR on video. This is part of the reason most of the FFR Perfect Project videos so far are re-AAAs. Of course, as you and Dossar have proven, there are exceptions.
As for my own experience: I experimented with using my phone to make a few videos last year (which can only send clips up to 30 seconds long), and I think I stopped after getting a 6g FC of EHHS from the Ultimate Simfile Pack on SM, back when I was still arrow-keying. Took me until last week to sup it.Originally posted by thesunfanI literally spent 10 minutes in the library looking for the TWG forum on Smogon and couldn't find it what the fuck is this witchcraft IGR
