Re: FFR Tips for AAA'ing tough sections of files ingame
It's not an innate competitiveness if you're only striving to improve those numbers for your own good. It's all about personal improvement.
I still find the obsession with levelranks ridiculous. It really shows the innate competitiveness of humans. Why would you bring yourself to such discomfort over and over again whoring a song you don't enjoy, just so you can be #1? Is it that important? Go work hard to do something that will actually matter for your life.Comment

Enough guys. Obviously you aren't going to love every file by every artist. I happen to really like some of xander's files like October, Clockwork, Guitar vs piano, Sonata, Coactive
Seems like ppl are just aggravated because they're hard to aaa if everything were easy to aaa there'd be no challenge.Last edited by psychoangel691; 04-21-2011, 10:09 PM.Originally posted by CharuMy dick is good, thank you very much. Sonata has some 1 frame gaps
But Metro has some zero frame gaps
RUH ROH! Looks like there won't be many AAAs this time around!
@samurai7694: If I recall correctly there are 2 framers in the one handed trill sections of the 32nd streams.Originally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment

Re: FFR Tips for AAA'ing tough sections of files ingame
DDR, ITG, Guitar Hero, and every playable dnb chart ever beg to disagree. I mean, I like things to be technically accurate too, but there is definitely a line between "enjoyable because it matches the song" and "awkward because it matches the song far too closely". And it's certainly possible to make a good file that doesn't exactly go to every note that's played, in both pitch and time.
Wait, what? If you want to play non-fun or untolerable files, there are plenty on bemanistyle and in the rejected parts of each FFR batch.
Me neither, but I wish he'd realize that certain things are really awful to hit, and go fix them up, going by rhythm game conventions instead of "as much PR as possible I don't care if people like it" ones. Almost every terrible pattern I've seen in an FFR file could have been stepped in a different way that would still go to the music but be much less awful to hit. This is the same thing I think about certain parts of Scintill's files.
Yeah, see, there you go. It's obvious that Xander *can* make fun files. There just needs to be someone there to say "this pattern sucks really hard, change it".Last edited by qqwref; 04-21-2011, 10:08 PM.Best AAA: Policy In The Sky [Oni] (81)

Re: FFR Tips for AAA'ing tough sections of files ingame
Am I the only one who likes Xandertrax's files because of the immensely huge playing diversity required to do decently on his charts since they need you to play differently and not just go on automatisms on an endless 16th stream? I mean, of course it's going to make 80% of the 1% top players remaining rage but still, if you want to practice awkward/tricky patterns you know who to call.

The only file I can think of off the top of my head that goes against that is Winter Wind Etude haha. It's endless 24ths with awkward 16th polyrhythm minijacks and then lol24thminijacks at the end.Originally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment
