Re: FFR Tips for AAA'ing tough sections of files ingame
Grist (mirrored)

The [34]141 part right before you should hit as jumps for a smoother transition.

This pattern is a pain in the ass. With a [23] 16th jump right before, this is how I looked at it. 1 frame apart makes AAA doable for that.

Rather than trying to look at it as is, see if you can find any sort of "trill" pattern. Splitting can be better than having to mash from bad transitions.

For a smoother roll-type transition, just watch out for frames.

Again, try to take advantage of the frames for a better transition, especially with that one.

Self-explanatory

This is an important final note I want to make: Not *all* the 32nds are 1 frame apart. This is what I mean by not hitting it as straight 32nds. You may have to slow down a little bit.
As for the beginning, try to sort of "lift" your hands up in jacking transitions so you don't get boos.
Another note: Sound off can help too.Last edited by DossarLX ODI; 04-2-2011, 02:23 PM.Originally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment

Re: FFR Tips for AAA'ing tough sections of files ingame
I think I'm doing better on the song, but I found that the last two sets of 32nds are probably the worst, especially the last one (five-arrow 32nds) with a ton of hands, ending with a quad (right before the 24ths at the end).Comment

Re: FFR Tips for AAA'ing tough sections of files ingame
I didn't mention that part because I didn't really have trouble with it.
Then again, it also takes trial and error. I thought it was more straightforward than the 32nds in a section like 830ish combo.Originally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment

How can I play End Night to the end without falling asleep and feeling dizzy?
I don't even understand... That song just feels sooooo long but it's so easy. Then, I just zone out and get random misses.Comment

Re: FFR Tips for AAA'ing tough sections of files ingame
Try lowering your speedmod. High speedmods require a lot of concentration if you're going for long periods of time. This is also a reason why I don't go higher than 1.75xOriginally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment

32nd bursts of Floating Hour pl0x.
Seriously, I've gotten 11-2-2-3 on that song. Guess where most of those happened. D:Originally posted by thesunfanI literally spent 10 minutes in the library looking for the TWG forum on Smogon and couldn't find it what the fuck is this witchcraft IGR

Re: FFR Tips for AAA'ing tough sections of files ingame
Hmm, I could probably do that. Floating Hour is the most nerve-wracking song in my list right now. After I nail those 32nds, I get SOOO nervous it's not even funny, that I mess up in the easy 16th jumpstreams lol.
I'll put up some pics later.Comment

Sorry to rush you guys, but second request inbound:
For those of you who have Sonata Quasi Una Fantasia Mov.3, I unlocked it last night, and after getting 25-0-0-1 sightread (one boo short of the 2 TP threshold, so I have an asterisk on that), I'm having a hell of a time with the following patterns:
-24th trill section around 450
-Trill of death in the 1200-1300 area (how fast is that SOB?)
I also seem to be getting minor mindblocks in the intro's minijacks.Originally posted by thesunfanI literally spent 10 minutes in the library looking for the TWG forum on Smogon and couldn't find it what the fuck is this witchcraft IGR

Floating Hour
Here are the 32nd bursts (nonmirrored, and not counting the lone 32nd triplets, there are a lot of those). Every other frame is a little lighter so you can see exactly how the intervals are.
1st one, just a roll but make sure to hit it properly:

2nd one, two trills, pretty tricky:

3rd one, fast jack to slightly slower weird pattern, then a trill:

last one, just two minitrills, but be careful:

Sonata Quasi una Fantasia
Here are the two 24th trills.
1st one, not too bad but the framer placements are a bit tricky

2nd one, you suck Xandertrax

That gap in the long sonata trill is always what messed me up.Comment

Re: FFR Tips for AAA'ing tough sections of files ingame
With long trills, I always try to sightread it, making ever-so-slight adjustments as necessary. For some reason, visually inspecting the trills seem to be the best method for me.Comment

Re: FFR Tips for AAA'ing tough sections of files ingame
I have success visually reading it, but those small gaps are very difficult to catch sometimes. At a lower speed mod, the gap in Sonata Quasi is actually somewhat noticeable. The problem is readjusting back to full speed after accounting for the gap.Comment

Re: FFR Tips for AAA'ing tough sections of files ingame
Ah, so slow down just a little bit when the long trill changes colors. Probably why I'm dumping averages in there now. As for the first one, I can combo, but not without dumping maybe 4 goods most of the time due to the transition after averaging 3 coming out of the first runningman section.Originally posted by thesunfanI literally spent 10 minutes in the library looking for the TWG forum on Smogon and couldn't find it what the fuck is this witchcraft IGR
