guys let's make the tier list one song it'll be vrofl and if you don't have it tough shit and it'll only be worth one point for the AAA and if you can't do that then you're shit and don't deserve to have an opinion in the first place pce
kmay, just because nobody was nice to you doesn't mean that people don't deserve the encouragement now. It's my primary goal in this game to make others better. I could give 3 shits less about my own scores in comparison to someone I'm trying to help.
^__^ you did this for me earlier. He was the reason why I AAA'd Seven and The Brain of the Moon today, and who knows when I would have gotten them if he hadn't of encouraged and bribed me :]
I wish there were more people like you around here, rushy. Seal of approval :]
IDEA! Let's just have no more tier points at all, k? It works
Glorious Morning - Misc, level 48 We Will Fly - Dance 2, level 53 =.The Ocean.= - Dance 2, level 56, collab with krunkykai22 Garden Party - Dance, level 38

eheehhehe. I feel all tingly inside

@kmay: avrank means nothing until you've played all the songs, which many people haven't done, therefore it isn't an accurate measure of skill until you're already at a status that one might consider pro.
i have nothing against people encouraging anyone else and i apprecited the help you gave me rushy, but there is no reason for a teir point to be rewarded for FCing a 9 or SDGing a 9. tier points are elite rankings. why cant we just use average rank to base how much we improve? tier points are an achievement, average rank is always a 'work in progess'. you guys will never make me see the way you are seeing this because you can't use the fact that I am good against me. like you are for Plan.
gg true colors everyone
1.) i have nothing against people encouraging anyone else
Sure you do. You're entirely against the whole new tier setup, which means you don't give a care about the lower level players whatsoever. 2.) tier points are elite rankings
Yeah, that doesn't mean that they're PROPER rankings. "Hi guys, this system has been used for so long, it's AUTOMATICALLY RIGHT"
3.) why cant we just use average rank to base how much we improve?
Because not everyone has the time to go through the painstaking effort of playing 4s and 5s, not to mention not everyone has the skills to FC 11s/12s. Get over yourself.
4.) tier points are an achievement, average rank is always a 'work in progess'.
Tier points might as well be a work in progress now that everyone lost points on a requirements that weren't exactly the best of them. Not demeaning any of the work whatsoever, but I can say (and a lot of people in this thread will agree) that the new requirements are ridiculous. Average rank is a work in progress but it's ENTIRELY optional because you can have a horrible average rank and still have a crapton of tier points (take Dossar, who wrecks the crap out of any 12). Tier points are entirely optional, sure - but a newer system would be a much better measure of true skill. 5.) you guys will never make me see the way you are seeing this because you can't use the fact that I am good against me. like you are for Plan.
You won't ever see the way that everyone else is because you're a player who originally claimed to never have been encouraged or loved, and now you're taking it out on the people who are actually getting noticed for their improvements. Here's one for you: suck it up and deal with it, because the world doesn't revolve around you and there's a LOT more people supporting the change than the minute amount of people against it. 6.) really? true colors? your one to talk.
Let me know where I've ever been rude to a newer player, or show me where I've reamed the living crap out of someone who didn't rightfully deserve it in terms of this game. Let me know when you can find a lower level player who didn't appreciate the fact that I defended something that is now turning into a great thread on its own (and really should be stickied), and you let me know when you can find a single shred of my existence that still cares toward elitist players like yourself.
EDIT: despite everything, I give massive props to Rushy because he continues to help players who strive to improve and the results speak for themselves - I may have been a bit of a prick when the picture-dictionary was being worked on but there's no way in hell I'm going to ever battle him again because he cares about the people that matter - the newer ones
lol oh let me tell you lol like that post of yours is any better?
I really need to know this, were you dropped on your head as a baby or are you just naturally a ****ing asshole/retard? Just curious.
That last post I made was sufficient enough, YOU tell me what they have?? I'd like to hear what Mr. KnowitallI'mAnElitist has to say
Nah, you are just a complete waste of a poster. You never make any sense and only defend the same people or repeat the same things over and over that others say to seem like you are making a valid point when all your posts end up being *** **** **** *** *** *** ***! and people just sit back and lol at what a dumbass you make yourself to be. Then you try to be the funny guy by saying shiz like "oh were you dropped on your head". If you want a true answer then no I wasnt because I got my shiz together and have my life straight, yours however if you want to go this route looks like a trainwreck and needs help. You're 24, time to act your age already and stop with this BS you pull out around here. All of you people want an "elitest" douchebag, well guess what, I guess I will grant your wish now and become one and you will have to deal with it since you seem to want it.
Careful now - while Plan may not have been completely respectful, he did state his thoughts about the newbie thread. I also think the idea was flawed since it puts "labels" on the players who post their scores in there (while a good amount of players in SM Scores weren't exactly "pro" before the FFR downtime, they never got labeled as a newbie), but at the same time that "label" allowed a place for newer players to recognize each other and see their potential (I still don't like calling them newbies, it seems pretty harsh especially after seeing SM scores as a hangout thread where nobody cared if you were good at the game or not, if you were respected you got recognized and chatted).
So yeah, krunky, your rants aren't adding anything, they're nothing more than personal attacks. I have nothing against you, but the rants are unnecessary.
As for tier points, I do agree some of these are ridicuously inconsistent, but I think I'll leave you guys into determining them because I'd have a crapton of individual bias if I wanted to give them values lol.

if the lower level players are dedicated they will play all the songs, and ANY improvement you make on any song is reflected right back to the average rank.
FFR is like golf. You shouldn't need other people to tell you when you're good or not. There should be no need for any sort of list at any point. Buuuut, people want it, so everyone should have access to something they can measure their achievements against.
I just always viewed "Tier Points" (c) as something extra special super awesome hard to get. I want that to stay the same, so let's just make something similar for the lower ranks.
Although getting a tier point may not be hard, striving for T0 should be something you should considering striving for if you want a challenge. It's not the fact that one TP instantly makes you a pro player, but the accumulation of many TPs truly shows dedication and skill. But because FFR is like golf, your ability to get 900+ TP does not constitute the fact that you are an elite player. Why do we call Rubix pro? Because he can AAA everything? The definition of a pro player is subjective and varies among everyone. What if Rubix can AAA everything once, and fail to SDG every song after obtaining that AAA? Can we still call him a pro player?

also personally i know that i had no idea what a tier point was until i got [heavy] we have goals for the lower level players to obtain, and when they can get those they can work on getting tier points.
not elitist because i am not elite nor do i think i am. I am merely saying that it should not be changed to allow anyone and everyone to get a tier point.

See, if someone were to come into a thread stating an idea against this one LIKE THIS, then arguments wouldn't happen. Thanks for being mature and at least respectfully disagreeing.
I do see this too, it does label those who are a little bit weaker at the game (and separates those who are stronger at the same time), but those people who are all within the same group get to congregate within the same area, posting scores and showing that they are striving to improve just as hard as those who are battling their way onto the top of the scoreboard, every day.
