Can somebody tell me how many AAAs I need before I start receiving tier points for them? I have like 348 and am just wondering.

You don't necessarily need to AAA a song to get Tier Points. Just by scoring decently can earn you some.

you'll get your first TP for total AAA count at 380 AAAs

Easier Tier Points will be awesome. It will show just how skilled the not so awesome players are. I'm pretty confident I could get points on most 8s and some 9s as long as the reqs look the same as the current ones.

Also, having tons of 10s, 11s, and 12s is kind of silly. Club and AIM Anthem are basically the same song, so why do we have both on the list?
For medium skilled players, getting a few lucky PAs of 11s or mash scores isnt as good measure of skill as someone who can PA 8s and 9s.

First: the current TP system is specifically meant to compare the best players, that's why the requirements are so tough. If you're at the level where all your TPs are from lucky PA or mash scores, you shouldn't be working on TPs yet.

Second: 10s, 11s, and 12s are great. You'd have more fun with those files if you tried actually playing them, instead of, y'know, mashing everything.

Well, 10s, 11s and 12s can be fun. But some are just bland or "technical" and unfun. How about everyone votes on their favorite 5 hard charts and make a list from that?

Hey, a major error in the TP scale as it is right now.

2/5 on Eradication is "50 or fewer", right? Well, after mashing out a 49-12-0-39 on it and still getting the second TP, I went into the page and did some math. The figure given for 50 or fewer on that song is too low: Specifically, it works out to something between 75 and 80 goods. Here's what it should really say.

275*50=13750
2080100 (the score for an AAA) - 13750 = 2066350

It may mean docking myself and a few others in that range a TP, but I don't believe in getting stuff I don't deserve on a technicality.

Edit: Oh, this is a sweet feature. On your TP Stats page, you can click your AAA count and it will show you which songs you've nailed. I never noticed that before.

Bump. Just going to repost what I have said on that one thread that got locked earlier today.

The current Tier Point system is complete crap because it does not support lower tier players and that some of the higher requirements are indeed near-impossible for most of the players on this site. I COULD fix up the tier points but at this point, I do not even have the motivation to do so because this site have honestly turned into complete crap and it makes me wonder if I even care about this site anymore. Also, I would like to mention that the current Tier Point system is NOT completely my fault (in case people want to pull that card) and here's why:

The original update to the new tier point system was just to update the current songs, at the time, using the OLD SYSTEM but at the same time, adding additional (10/10) or higher requirements to songs that quality for them. Problem was that Sprite- said that he was not able to add (10/10) or higher requirements into the system so then he suggested that we just make the whole system stricter all together so that what we did and look how it turned out to be. I even tried asking lightdarkness to see if he could fix up the code/database side of that but after the hundreds of times I have tried PMing/asking him on AIM, he never responded so that tells me that he did not care enough to respond back to someone like me.

So yeah, if someone on this site have the motivation to fix up the tier points, that would be nice. Actually you know what, how about we fix up the tier points AS A COMMUNITY? Like we could literally make a thread about it, post the current tier point system and people on this site can point out the things that we need to change/add into the current tier point system. This will prove that the community is more important/smarter than just a group of staff members who think that they know what is best for the site.

Just saying.

I personally think there needs to be a MASSIVE discussion on the entire thing and start fresh over with the conversation. Bring up previous ideas and just involve EVERYONE. Put up a "new" thread "Official Tier Point System V2" with a notice on the front page describing that this new thread would emphasize the COMMUNITY giving Ideas and coming up with the new system rather than a select few people.
