So. I started playing FFR yesterday (I'm a Stepmania guy, but the competitive side of this game lured me over to try).

1. I have a 2000$ computer.
2. I have tried everything I can think of myself.
3. I have been humiliated in MP due to to it.

How do I get this game to lag less? The steps stutter towards me like they are in stop-motion mode.

I have tried:

1. Running it in different browsers.
2. Setting all quality to low.
3. Running it in flashplayer.
4. Turning off every useless process running until my computer cried because I chopped its arms and legs off.

I went to have a look on youtube and found this.

1. Why does he have a huge playfield and I do not?
2. Why does he have 500 FPS?

Real answers please, or I might have to lay down and die.

inevitable failure is more like it..the computer may have cost $2000 but if he has lag then he must have Vista.

On another note: 500 fps is impossible with the FFR game engine only running at 30 fps. Care to explain where the 500 came from?

EDIT: If you wouldn't mind sharing your computer's specs it might help us out a little more. Assuming you are not running Vista.

it depends on what kind of processor you have. like take me for example. i have a 1.58 ghz and 2 gbs of ram, but the processor is amd

AMD is better than intel. Intel processors run way too hot. My AMD Phenom 9600 has a constant temp of 43 and it just has a stock heatsink and fan. My friend got the Intel i7 and he has had nothing but problems with it, mainly overheating.

my vista only fails because i have intel celeron. it gets hot when the left side of the battery isn't in the air slightly thats my fault for getting a 300$ computer
