Lol i couldnt AAA 5 songs until like 2 years? I've taken like 2 6 month breaks and cant seem to get any better. And like I AAA VC easy but I can't AAA VD and Challenging songs. Wierd to me

to answer the last question warming up becomes an integral part of higher level play and the reason most people don't see improvement over regular intervals is because they do not warm up properly and are not playing at their full potential(other factors certainly do contribute to this but I feel this is one of the main ones) on most days

on a side note the longest I've ever gone without improving during actual periods of play was like, 2 weeks

and on a completely unrelated note it took me about 5 months of playing before I could AAA fgo's

I was stuck on the transition from VD's to C's for a few months until I started actually being able to read C's. I probably didn't play more than 1500 games during the time though.

I was stuck there a LONG time too. Played over 5000 games during that period of time lol. I started improving when i stopped ffr and restarted 4 months later :P.

I spent quite some time on lv 9s and 10s before i fc all the 11s, i think now im improving alot faster than before cause i know what my weaknesses are (trills) and i work on them.

I've been a member for 3.13 years. I never played Stepmania or anything before starting FFR and it took me about 10 months to be able to FC VC's. It's been over 2 years later and I've still never FC'd a song harder than VC haha. (sad)

So by that I believe you're saying I shouldn't keep playing Fierce Combat over and over again. >_>;; I play other songs- honest!

Well anyway- thanks for all the replies everyone. Some of it's encouraging, some of it's not, but practice makes perfect eh?

So what do you do to warm up?

i recently went from PA'ing challenging to PA'ing FMO's, i've done alot of reading and studying expanding my brain usage. When i came back to FFR after not playing for about 8 months i was surprisingly better. I can now read everysong. If i only had the speed i could AAA fgo's

i would say about 2 to 3 straight months when i 1st started about 4 to 5 months in.. i waz so bad i literally stopped playin for weeks then decided to come bak. and said if every1 else can do it so can i.

i started AAA's on very difficult then got better and started AAA's on challenging along with 1 very challenging AAA

dont give up jus got to keep at it

So what do you do to warm up?

there's really no super secret or magic to it rofl all my warmup involves is a solid 3 hours of playing and a large amount of soda

then there's like a 2 hour window where I can get good scores before I tire out

yea that's p much it, no finger exercises or weird diets or voodoo magic just a large time investment which is why I rarely play now

I've gone a good month or two without much improvement, but I have OCD so I usually improve quickly. Right now I'm basically at an average right now. I couple new AAA's here and there and a couple lvl. ranks improved. As far as exercises go, I just kind of stretch and clench my hands a few times. I play piano a lot so I have a lot of finger strength from that.

After Playing FFR regularly instead of stepmania for a month I now can barley get A's and AA's on song I use to get FC. It is a sad time for me indeed. I have since begun to play both everyday.
