Vista doesn't suck for this game. I use vista and I'm improving so the vista excuse doesn't really work.
Took me 4 tries, but I just like playing it when I'm bored.

Played FFR just fine on an '03 1/2gb XP... And at home on my '05 3gb XP.. but guess what no... It's not gonna run (Get like 20 fps lmao) on the '09 4gb Vista Premium.

oh yeah every other game works fine on it, flash or .exe so I'm slowly starting to think it's the developers fault...
(Stepmania runs beautifully btw)

Protip: RAM doesn't make your computer faster

I used to use Vista on my machine and in ran perfectly thanks to my processor and video card being able to run it. Try disabling the Areo theme. If you guys don't have the power to run it without that, use an Ubuntu Live Boot disc just for FFR.

no **** I turned off aero that was the first thing I did when I got my computer I didn't need to get 250 goods on frictional nevada to do that

also I tried ubuntu but firefox had some issues and glitches that were too annoying, lke in order for my keys to register I had to fail a song every time I wanted to play one or something

I also had some hassles getting flash to install properly in the first place, then there's the fact that I have to reboot my computer every time I want to play a flash game?

That was probably cause you were using swfdeck instead of Adobe Flash in Ubuntu. And again, your processor and video card probably aren't up to stuff. I actually bench marked my computer for FFR with XP and Vista. Vista used up more resources but my computer easily handled FFR running at the same speed.

EDIT: I've used Firefox for years on both Windows XP-7 and Ubuntu 8.04 to 9.04...not a single glitch ever. Was probably you having swfdeck.

You need to uninstall swfdeck before it'll use adobe flash.

$sudo apt-get remove swfdeck
