    I won an auction.

    Won an auction for a CD. Ended up costing 205 dollars (without shipping and handling fee).

    Now I'm not sure if I should have done this lol.

    My intention was to not go higher than 125 dollars, but I couldn't resist.
    CD is really rare, and it was the first time it showed up on any auction site after a looooong time of it being released. There isn't even any information about the release on any website, but it -is- a legitimate CD from that label.
    My connections had heard about the CD, but never seen any information about it until now.

    I dunno, I really wanted it, but I ended up paying way more than I should have.
    Was this a smart move or not?

    EDIT: I forgot there was a chit chat forum, move it to there if necessary.

    EDIT2: Since lots of people are saying I should have just downloaded this album, let me make this clear.
    There are NO downloads for this album. If there was any download for this album, me and the people I know would have found it by now.
    This CD was released at 2005 or 2006 most likely, estimated about 50 releases, and nobody I know has ever even laid eyes on the CD before this auction. It is THAT rare.

    If it's really that rare and you were looking for it, why not?

    If that's what you're into, fine by me. I wouldn't have done it.

              Depends on the CD, but it also differs from person to person. Just as long as you're happy with your decision.

                @tofurox

                Rip as in rip-off? Or rip as in, copied/bootleg CD?

                Cause it's definetely not a copied/bootleg CD. (Although it -is- a CDr, which is manufactured at a less professional level since it's done by the artist himself, instead of a professional company. But alot of Sharpnel's CD's are CDr's as well, and they're still legit.)

                @MechDreams

                I guess.
                I'm a J-Core collector, and IMO, REDALiCE is one of the best J-Core artists out there.
                But I can't really say I'm happy with my decision. Sorta mixed feelings ya know?
                On one hand I have a REALLY rare CD, on the other, I lost a ton of money on it.

                  I think you payed too much. If you can copy the CD and turn around and sell it for some of your money back, I would do that.

                      I guess the way I see it for this situation is, you can make that money back, but you can't be certain about the next time this CD will be up for grabs, so if it means a lot to you, I think you made a good purchase. There's always a limit to this idea though, make sure you know you CAN make the purchase, and have a safe amount of money left for necessities, like food, utilities, etc.

                          And I think a move for something rare like this is fine AS LONG as you have the money to do so... 205 is quite a hefty sum but compared to some other collector's items it's nothing.

                          tha Guardians: Get me albums 1-3 from LUV2. I'll even supply you the album name, release date and catalog number. Good luck. (Me and SF can't find this and we are j-core collectors, him more than me though )

                            Yeah, this is the first time in 5 years that this CD showed up on any auction lol.
                            But I don't have to worry about necessities like that just yet. I still live with my parents. Easiest while studying etc, don't have to worry about bills what not and I can focus on my education.

                            Hell naw, I ain't stepping this for FFR haha. It's much too rare to just send (any of the songs) around like that.

                            And yeah, I don't have ALL of the money -yet-, so I'll be in the negative at my bank for a month or something.
                            Got about 150 bucks accessible right now.
                            EDIT: It's the first time I ever bought anything without having (all of) the money for it, so meh.

                              No music CD should be worth over $200. The only reason you'd pay that much is because you think it's a sentimental collectors item.

                              ...Who knows though, maybe in 10 years you can sell it to some poor sucker for 3 grand.
