I made the switch about last august. Izzy showed it to me because that's what he uses. I haven't looked back since. Though I still have problems...but I'm thinking it's more mental now than physical.

I do notice that when i DO find that my right hand is essentially dying, that the muscles in the right arm are VERY tense, and I've always wondered "why the hell isn't my left arm tense?"

It's not impossible that you're just better at trilling with your left hand. I'm better at doing slow trills with my left hand (MAX Forever) and fast trills with my right hand (Vertex BETA), so it may also depend on the speed.

Ah I didn't see that haha my fault.

Also, it could posture as well. Depending on how you're pushing the keys down could effect how well you trill.

Do the keys closer to the bottom of the keyboard have less distance to be pushed?

It seems like it. I can't really tell. It could just be the angle of the keyboard too.

A small detail that usually helps me is to press one of the keys a tad harder.

For the record, my left hand is now useless compared to my right, and I still can't find that tape!!! On top of that, my chihuaha just pooped on my carpet. >=/

I've always hated Chihuahuas. Maybe you're lucky and he pooped tape. You know EA, you just use some kind of string too.

I find ef ji to be better than qs lp, but I still have trouble with left handed and right handed trills, but more so with the left hand.

@EA: Just like that? lol within 30 minutes your right hand has surpassed your left? Maybe I have a more serious problem then because I've been trying different things this whole time and my left is still better. I'm going to be taking the fingerweights thing seriously though. Possibly making it a habit. I refuse to accept inadequacy xD

Haha. Well I tried the fingerweight thing, and WITH the fingerweights, I did better on EHHS than without...Maybe it's because I used AA's rather AAA's...

I seem to have the exact opposite problem as everyone in this thread. I'm right-handed, but my left middle finger seems to be the weakest of the four (I play spread). My right hand is perfect on trills, but my left just doesn't have the strength yet to hold big combos on long songs or long trills. I tried switching to qslp from askl, but it felt very bizarre and my middle fingers felt even weaker than they did before. I play using a desktop keyboard.

EDIT: Sprite (and others), did you feel slightly weaker initially when you switched to qslp?

I kinda hve this problem, although its getting better. Righthanded and my damn right hand just couldnt do the trills. But really, if you cant work it out with practice, id suggest changing key setup. I use s,d,l,;, and its amazing for what I need. I just recently got back to playing too, having to basically relearn spread since I had been gone for so long.

Perhaps the word is weaker... but it certainly felt some kind of odd. I knew getting used to it would be worth it, but when you've played for a while with one setup and you switch to another, it does take some getting used to.
