    I can't even tell when I get better, I just randomly do. One day I'll be like UGH I'M NOT ANY BETTER AT ANY OF THESE SONGS. And then I look at my old ss's and realize I couldn't even FC them before.

        Skill jumps vary between people. Most people get better from playing more while others seem to get random skill jumps from not playing very often.

        I, for one get better scores from not playing FFR/SM daily but every other day or two days. But each gameplay slowly builds up some skill in an area (MA, Speed, etc.).

            I didnt know it was called anything, so Ive refered to it as " the magic skill level " before, since you magically seem to be better or worse some days.

            Be happy you got it and hope you dont lose it, as has happened to me. One day I will be rocking ass on songs I had trouble with, the next day I will be right back to playing them like crap again. Frustrating, but if you keep at it your skill lvl will slowelly get better over time.

                I mashed solo files for hours today.
                And then I played FFR after that and wala, I can read the midstream in Eclipse and got my top 10 8)

                conclusion: solo rulz

                                        Yesterday I had somewhat of one.
                                        I can jack better now (Insert sex joke here), and read jumpstream patterns that I couldn't before.

                                            but yeah, i've had several too.
                                            having one the last few days.
                                            i was working on level 7 (difficult songs) about a month ago. started playing again after a month break, and found level 8 songs (very difficult) MUCH easier. no fc's or aaa's :*(, but i felt really confident on 8's.
                                            so i tried out level 9 songs tonight (challenging).
                                            i've tried level 9's before. . .they always felt impossible.
                                            but bam. . .magically i'm able to play them.
                                            lol i keep getting thrown off in the songs . i'll go through a really fast complicated part of a song, and hit every arrow. i always feel like i just missed tons of the arrows. . .but no. . .my combo ticker says otherwise . . .lol throws me off.
                                            it's amazing.
                                            this isn't my first skill boost. it's happened a few other times as well. . .but this one is special to me lol. i'm actually starting to be able to play some of the hard songs in the game (and this game is SOOOO MUCH funner now that i'm on some pretty tough songs).
                                            i even full combo'ed a level 9 song tonight. (here's to life [oni] 1098 perfects; 77 good; 3 average; 4 boos).

                                            i also find taking breaks from the game helps me alot. i'll sometimes take really long breaks (several months) and when i come back to the game, i'm better.

                                                    I got a little bit of a PA/MA boost about a week ago. I managed to whiteflag a couple of VCs when the best I could get before was a low SDG.

                                                        As I said in this post:

                                                        Build up your arm muscles. For instance, tie one end of a rope to a 5lb weight or something light but will give you a good amount of resistance. And tie the other end to a stick. Make the rope about as long as your arms are high off the ground when you hole them straight out in front of you. After that, literally wind the weighted rope around the stick like you would roll up a poster or something. Repeat this two or three times or as many times as you can comfortably.

                                                        Or if you have a set of dumbells or a weight bench, work out and you'll gegt better at hitting jacks and fast arrows and shtuff.
