    Time for a new genre

I have been playing FFR for a while now and the music that has already been added is good but the time for a new genre is now. I have noticed that the numbers on FFR have been slowly dropping over the past few months and it is beginning to scare me. I have a solution to get some of the people that have left back and to bring in a new group of people to FFR. My idea is to make a new genre which I suggest to be Classic Rock. Now I know that this thread will not get looked at by anybody except subbies for a while but the idea will bring in more people who will hopefully subscribe to help in the advance of this madness we call FFR. Please post a response if you want the people in charge to create the new Classic Rock genre.

Well, if we could get permission from people like Led Zeppelin this would work. But yeah there's no chance in that.

Doesn't sound too appealing to me.

FFR site traffic has decreased because school is back in session. Classic Rock is not enough to be a seperate genre. It's only a style of rock. It's like making the Dance genre then a Techno genre. It doesn't work out here.

classic rock is not enough to be another genre?! Do you know how long the span is for classic rock. Its 30 years. now you cant tell me that the other music on here with the exception of classical has been around for over 30 years. and with the shear number of different bands and styles of music there are, yes classic rock is its own genre.

Classic Rock is a style of rock, no matter how you look at it.

i dont think getting the permissions for using the music will be as hard as you think. the copyrights for some of the music have run out by now and to get the others there would need to be a lot of people for this to get the admins to even take this seriously but it think that the less famous songs will be allowed to be used pretty easily.

ok ill bite classic rock is a style of rock but if you are goin to be technicl then must of the music in the classical genre should not be there because they are not the real songs.

Getting permission for the music would be welcome; however, creating a new genre entirely is unnecessary.

Edit: In your post above, by "real songs," what do you mean? The only songs that really aren't pure classical are Legendary Etude and Arabesque. Everything else is classical music, it's just that some of them have been composed quite recently or played by computer programs (the Piano Etudes, Death Piano, etc.)

well i guess i need to go back to what i said before, there is too much involved in classic rock to not consider it its own genre on here. but what could end up happening is what happened to the dance genre, it was split because there were too many songs too have just one genre so i think after a while it will split off but it will probably start out in rock.
