    Help with harder songs

Hey I'm still kinda new and I'm fairly confident in my skills at easier songs but once i start trying the harder songs usually i start having trouble. Can anyone give me any pointers/advice that might help?
I appreciate any help you can give

The less you care about getting better, the more naturally you'll do it.

Focusing too hard on trying to get better sometimes defeats the purpose.
Why would you put that in your signature? You've lost your signature rights for a month. (You'll get them back on March 10th, 2012.)

Keep playing those easy songs. When you can consistently fc the easy songs, move up difficulties 1 by 1.

Try and find charts that go well to the music so it feels more natural to play to them. Conversely, take note of recurring patterns in the chart you're playing.
Pay attention to the note colours. Aside from their ability to provide contrast between close bunches of notes they also signify their place within a beat; red is on the beat, blue halfway between two beats, yellow halfway between a red and a blue. If you see a purple note it's one third of the way into a beat, and et cetera.
Try and use a higher speed-mod. It spaces out the notes to make it easier to determine what pattern they're in. The higher you can comfortably read at the better.
Make sure nothing is lagging down your computer. Sign out of messengers, close games, close unnecessary tabs, raise the priority of your browser's process. The less it lags the easier it is to read and PA.
And above all, PRACTICE. Dynamo wasn't born passing Reincarnation.

I like what Patashu said. Also, if you haven't already, TRY spread. (dedicate one finger to one arrow). One thing that helps me is to always hit the quarter note harder than the other keys, and if there's a double, it usually is a louder note in the song and you should get the feel of hitting it harder than single arrows.

Spread is far far easier if you're not already using it, but it might feel a bit cheap. Your call, because it's a fun game no matter how you play it. You can even train two styles at once.

practice and memorization is good but also sometimes the speed is a factor the notes seem harder on slower mods sometimes

I find playing random songs in my difficulty range is more fun than selecting a specific song to play because I improve subconsciously that way. I don't know though that might just be me

As they say "Time flies by when you're having fun". I love how when you play this game you're actually enjoying getting better at something. If some skill involves meticulous detail or analytical thought, it may take more motive to get better, but as long as you're having fun and playing harder songs each month, then you're getting better. You also have an awesome community to compare and set goals to.

THIS is the lamest advice ever. Not saying it's bad... But it's 'empty' advice.
