Music pertaining to anime, or containing anime into one. (Probably goes against jimerax's idea of a "genre")

One thing we should ascertain is whether genre will be based on common style (how jimerax defines genre) or common theme (like the current arcade).

Anime isn't too good with the same reason as Arcade/Game.

Yup. It's hard to go solely by common theme... so I guess it is better if we go by common style like jimerax states. Common theme will require that common style overruns it, like the present category system does.

I can try to make a draft of the new categorization... and then send it to someone else (like jimerax or whoever) so they can start a new thread maybe?

No one would have a valid reason for removing arcade, except for the preservation of old-time FFR and initial user confusion of massive genre movement... but that is all necessary to make category changes anyway. WHICH IS WHY I stress the fact that a new thread should be made.

to jimerax: You do think arcade should be removed as a genre, right? I think it would be an important part of the recategorization process.

I dont think the classification of music in FFR should be its association to what anime or what movie or crap like that it is to. It should be classified musically and on what type of music (house, techno, hardhouse, Gabba, Hardstyle, J-core, Euro etc...)

Thats what I was getting at with my post according to classification.

How the songs are catagorized in FFR on the other hand.... hell... the whole system needs to be revamped. There should be a techno section that has techno songs, touhou songs and arcade crap in arcade catagories, breakcore in a breakcore catagory.... Thats just what i think. There are so many songs in the FFR system that are in the wrong catagories in the first place. And Im guessing we need to fix that first.

I guess what Im getting at is: what the hell does Mics means to you guys? If it means thed combinations of catagory of music such as house, techno, hardhouse, gabba, hardstyle, j-core Euro, then the next question is, for a large amounts of music in that catagory that has similarities or are the same style like Vsnares = Breakcore, why isn't there a separate catagory for that?

Edit: I have already thought of the catagorization and the organization of each catagory of music as well as all the songs that belongs in them...

Arcade should be changed to a more "consistent" genre IMO.
not sure it will actually happen though.

Well, an anime opening can be a rock song, a pop song etc. If the anime is based on a game, i dunno.

Well, an anime opening can be a rock song, a pop song etc. If the anime is based on a game, i dunno.

No, That's the kind of thing they shouldn't do, I mean, Venetian Snares isn't a "Drum n Bass Breakcore with a Jazz flow and Classical background fueled with randomness" genre in FFR xD

Anyway, I think it is best to scrap the whole common theme (games or anime), and base genre on styles that have 12 or more of its kind. Then place everything else in misc.

Misc would have too much songs IMO.

But yeah, more like overall genre/style, Don't giving out too much details about it, I mean Indie Rock is still Rock, Club Trance is still Trance etc...
