Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
LGC would have had no chance now. Even if JX was too busy daydreaming about the loli singing in the song to notice how bad the steps were, I know for a fact blu and I would have slaughtered that file in the batch.
Also, none of my currently ingame files have gone through the batch/queue process. The only two files I've submitted in this way will almost certainly be queue'd, however. As far as I can remember, only my extremely streamy files have one-handed trills, like SP, KK04, and VB.
By the way, I like to seperate my own judgment of what a quality file is from what I personally find enjoyable to play. I feel I am a reasonably good judge of what quality steps are, but in the end the files I will return to over and over are simply going to be the ones that accompany my favorite songs and are decent. 90% of the fun factor in any file comes from song choice for me, and as I stated before, these are typically constant BPM songs in the 200-240 range. I'd say about 10% has to do with the step quality, although this can be much more if the file is really really bad (see LGC). But even a mediocre BB Revenge file will be infinitely more inherently fun for me than rainbow colored stuff like Final Step, even if I can recognize that Final Step is probably a better file. And even LGC is faaaaaaar more fun to me than Power, even if Power has much higher quality as a stepfile, because Power is too boring for me to have any fun playing it.
