This is only for people who have upgraded to vista
Do you have windows vista? Are you considering quitting ffr because your PA is terrible? Do you feel that it is not your fault? Would you like for me to fix it?
All good questions and hopefully be the end of this your problems will be gone forever. Now, the route of the vista lag problem is sooooooo so so so so simple that it LITERALLY took me 5 seconds to look up a fix (lol google).
The problem is your keyboard driver, not vista. Vista is a very good system and has few flaws which impair the proper functioning of ffr. The driver problem is no one's fault but the computer retailer's (or who ever setup vista on our computer, for more information see the link at the bottom of this post).
Anyway on to the solution:
STEP 1:
System restore
Make sure this is turned on and you have all your data backed up. If you **** the next steps up, it is Not my fault. Back up your damn data. If you don't know how to do this, then don't even bother trying the next steps.
STEP 2:
registry editing
Ok go to your start menu, open up Run. Type in this word exactly without quotes, "regedit".
STEP 3:
once registry editor is open, click the plus sign beside the word HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Then click the plus sign beside the word SYSTEM. Then click the plus sign beside the word CurrentControlSet. Then click the plus sign beside the word Services. Then again beside the word i8042prt. Then click on parameters. This is all done in the SIDE window.
STEP 4:
on the right hand window you should see several words with numbers beside them. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING BESIDES WHAT I AM ABOUT TO TELL YOU!
Look for PollStatusIterations, click it and a small window should popup.
STEP 5:
The window should be labeled Edit DWORD Value. inside it there should be the name of the DWORD and a text box with a hexidecimal value in it. Beside the text box should be 2 dot checks for hex and decimal. check decimal and enter the Value of 1 into the text box. Close everything and reboot your system.
EDIT: quick fix, if you don't have a PollStatusIterations DWORD then make one and follow the steps
That is it, thank you.
