    Spread is the best way to play. Its certainly the most easiest, because one hand you gota use alot of energy to hit the arrows, while spread is easy, simple, and can keep you ontrack with the beat and notes.

    I use SD KL. Its a good way.

    If you practice this technique, youll be a good player in no time.

        Spread is probably the most "elite" way to play- the game's best mainly play spread. I personally like zx./ but as stated, you can go ahead and find what's most comfortable and natural for you.

        Though spread is really good for excelling at the game, I personally find indexing the most fun style. Using two fingers for the game, it gets pretty interesting. The downside is that a lot of the hard files are made for spread players, and therefore, the patterns can get annoying for indexers.

        One-handing is also pretty fun, but it's pretty challenging. If you can get really good at it (3-fingered or 4-fingered), it becomes quite fun and impressive to others.

        There are also other playing styles such as 2-hands/3-fingers (basically index with another finger thrown in, I think) and stuff, but I never figured them out.

          Really, whatever you like best is what you stick with.

          Spread is with two hands 4 fingers, using 4/2 8/6 on your numpad, or your letter keys such as zx,. askl, etc. Often considered the most efficient way to play, and most people play this style. Often considered the most "pro" style because every master player on the site plays this style for ease of use and quickness to learn.

          Index is playing with 2 fingers, using your index fingers. It's about as good as spread but harder to master and play well with.

          One-handed is also a popular style. You play with three fingers or two, or even four (though this is rare). Extremely difficult to master but becoming pro with one hand is considered highly impressive. Very fun style to play. As you can tell I play this style. :P

          Three fingers/two hands is a fusion of spread and index. Interesting playing style, but if you play index from the start playing like this would be better, since it enables you to hit triples and quads.

          There are also other playing styles, but just find what suits you best.

            Re: Finger placement

            I use the arrow keys 4 fingers. A little unusual is I use the following setup:
            left-left hand middle finger
            down-left hand index finger
            up-right hand middle finger
            right-right hand ring finger

            Most people don't like the ring finger thing on the right arrow but it just feels more natural for me.

            The only reason I still use the arrow keys is I like to feel when I hit the notes with the other hand. It helps me with my PA (perfect attack) but sometimes causes random boos, but those go away with time.

                OneHand = 4568 Numpad keys

                TwoHandSpread = QW86 [86 is numpad] for me

                TwoHand3Finger = 4568 Numpad keys

                Index = 4568 Numpad keys

                Basically, numpad owns all.
