Spiff, I seem to notice that nobody's on your side here. All of the forum regulars, who have the most influence in what they say (outside of the Admins and Synth), seem to agree that hackers suck. I don't even understand what your angle is. How can you possibly condone it whatsoever? It's not 'over-inflated ego' or anything, as you like to put it, but why should players with talent like Reach, or Nima, or Arch, have people claim they're better than they are because they can hack a score? It's bull. And if you really say we can't compare it to real life, fine, I'll run with that, I'll compare it to another game. How would you feel if your favorite football team lost because the opposing team bribed the Ref, cheated, changed the scores, used 'roids, etc.?

what i'm saying is, there needs to be a large ego involved for somebody to want THAT MUCH to see a screenname of theirs on one site on the internet. hardly anybody reads the high scores, at least the people who want to have fun.

First of all, I hate football. But that doesn't matter- I know what you mean. I would feel awful, and angry. But FFR isn't like professional football teams. It's more like playing football in your backyard with some friends for 20 minutes, and somebody cheats. FFR is not a large-scale thing.

almost everyone else on this site would say that hackers ruin the fun of the game because dreams of getting on the high scores are shattered: it's one of the better feelings in the game when you know you have the skill of a top player-that's their opinion

I have checked, and I have only one IP logged on Life-Death, meaning he has a secure connection. That secure connection would show up as AO's if it was his. It didn't. Either AO was IP banned and got a new IP, or it isn't him. Judge for yourself, those are the facts.

Um, I don't know about the rest of the people around here, but all I've been saying is "cheaters suck, something should be done about the hacked scores." I don't find that to be "huffy", I think that's a pretty simply and calmly stated request.
We're just tired of you telling us that we're wrong and we shouldn't want the scores to be removed. Nobody here is doing anything extreme about this issue, we aren't spamming or making petitions or anything stupid like that. We merely state our opinion when the topic comes up. What is wrong with that?

It's less of a fact that they want those scores, more of a fact that they DESERVE those scores.

And it's less fun for some people when there are hacked scores around. Whether or not you think it's right to have less fun for that reason is irrelevant, the fact is that the scores bother some people.

The community determines if they're relevant or not. If nobody in the community cares, then it's not an issue. But some people do, so it is.

You're in a majority rules environment trying to tell the majority to change their mind on an issue. That just doesn't happen, no matter the forum (forum being used in the broad sense of the word...not as in an internet forum )

IM NOT AO WTF... im just trying to state that be peaceful and right forums on FFR not hacking and MY PROFILE SUCKS. I PLAYED 400 GAMES AND HAVE 280. I dont condone hacking its just stop dissin people just let them be and let them get caught.
