I can't get my pad to work - Please help

Right, then.

So...

I bought a pad and a USB adaptor recently. I ran the installation program for the pad, etc. However, despite the fact that my computer recognizes that the pad is plugged in, and the pad lights up when stepped on, nothing happens on the computer screen when I use the pad.

I've seen some old threads with people saying that they could play FFR with a pad, so I was wondering if anyone can help me solve my problem. I know that everybody says you get flooded with "boo"s, but I'm working on that. Or I will be.

you really cant use a pad for ffr
even if you could, u would fail because of all the boo's

look, i can deal with the "boo"s. i know how to fix that. i just can't get the computer to even respond.

You can't deal with the boos.

As for support, you should tell us what kind of adaptor you have. Make sure you add it as a joystick/gamepad in Control Panel.

Even then, you still need to map it so the computer pretends the gamepad is actually hitting keyboard buttons.

Just get Stepmania and it'll all be easier.

I have a super dual box psx compatible controller adapter for pc usb. whatever that means. how can you map it?

there is a program floating around the internet that lets joypads, or in this case dance pads, be recognized as keyboard keys.. just gotta search..

If you're disabling boos somehow, I think Synth should be aware of this.

no, no, i'm not sure what i should be searching for.

and as for boos, if the computer thinks the pad is the keyboard, all you have to do is go to control panel and change the repeat delay and the repeat rate. it makes sense.
